The three favourite movie scene thread got me thinking about stunts in movies. What’re your top 3 favourites? I could happily list Jackie Chan’s entire 80’s film output, some Buster Keaton and top it off with most of Ong Bak, Chocolate, Merantau, both Raid films, Born to Fight and Warrior King.

I love stunts performed without wires that showcase physical skills more than anything else. I also appreciate great stunt set pieces such as the plane hijacking from Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max chase scenes and the canyon wing suit scene from the shitty Point Break remake.

Narrowing it down is tricky, but I love these three.

That’s an absolute classic scene from a movie packed with them. I’d forgotten all about it so thanks for posting

Pleasure, it was the first one I thought of when I saw the topic.

The only thing I’ve seen recently that stood out as a proper real world scary stunt was the helicopter chase in mission impossible fallout

Fury Road. Well, it's all a big stunt scene really.

Buster and Jackie FTW! 🙂

Does it count as a stunt if no-one's in it? Best race car crash in a film, for my money.

Harold Lloyd's stunts were doubly impressive given that he was missing part of a hand.

God damn I really should refresh threads before replying.

I did not know that.

And I've now just read why. He was posing for a publicity photo lighting a cigarette from a bomb and they'd accidentally used a real bomb. WTAF? In later films he wore gloves with prosthetic fingers to hide it. Wow.

That’s ACME level shenanigans right there.
