OOOOH, this is a tough one!

There's soooo much ZZ Top, VH, GNR and more that I could post. But, for now - Sloe Gin, by Joe Bonamassa. Turn it up. Loud. Very loud. Shut down the world and listen.

Earth's Cry, Heaven's Smile by Santana. Still makes my hair stand on end. And saw him play it live straight after my A levels 😀

There hasn't been any decent solos out in years. The White Stripes probably have the best solos out of all the recent bands I know.

Never get bored with:

Mick Ronson at the end of Boys Keep Swinging.
Keef's bits in Sympathy For the Devil

There hasn't been any decent solos out in years
Wow, you've listened to everything that's been released?! 😉

+1 for Sympathy For The Devil, especially the live version on Get Yer Ya Ya's out. Marc Ford on Southern Harmony and Amorica by The Black Crowes, before the drugs got in the way.

From after the drugs and before they fell out about the drugs.

Neil Young as above.

Also Down by the River.

One note guitar perfection. Put that up your bum bum Satriani. 😆

A bit obvious but for me it is Angus Young doing Let There Be Rock (specifically an early gig with Bon Scott still on vocals that was filmed somewhere in Paris).

I saw it once on late night TV and have been unable to find it again on You Tube so no linky I am afraid.

I also love most Tony Iiomi stuff but he doesn't do 'solos' as such.

+1 for that BOC solo, it's fantastic...really melodic, great phrasing and not too many notes.

Albert Lee - Country Boy

About 1:40 for the solo though it's pretty astonishing.

Tele > Cable > Super Reverb - that's the way to do it.

Always love hearing the solo on Little Caesars' cover of [url=

'I Wish It Would Rain'... takes me waaay back.

Thought Dimebags guest slot on Anthrax's [url=

]'Inside Out' was one of his best too (can't view the vids here in the prison camp, so cannae spec. the times)

MASTILES -

Angus Young doing Let There Be Rock (specifically an early gig with Bon Scott still on vocals that was filmed somewhere in Paris)

Isn't that off the 'Let There Be Rock' video, filmed in Paris? Must be on DVD by now..

That ^ is f*cking awful. Playing bass on the guitar = fail, and goes to show playing fast does not make you a decent guitar player, its got no soul.

Undiscovered classic tune from 1979 as only 805 worldwide youtube views proves or maybe it's just rubbish 😉 .Unusual as a saxophone leads for most of this one.Understated guitar solo from 2.57 for those without patience.

And a bit more mainstream
