It's not a bad shout, might not come through mind but at 12-1 it's worthy of a few quid. Rosberg finishing in the podium earnt me a few quid in Singapore but I didn't have anything on this weekend, just as well as I'd have lost it I reckon, and the red-bulls were forgone conclusions according to the bookies.
Monaco and Montreal are two rare chances to have a bet on something other than Red Bull. They have so much more downforce - pretty sure the others will not make up that much difference.
I'm feeling better about my pre-season bet on the "talentless" (according to some numpty on here) Webber for WDC. Did that each way - certainly I picked the best car and there won't be much more than a race here or there between the drivers.
m_f - that Hamilton can shred tyres is a measure of his heavy touch, not of the car! Jenson does much better. For the same reason I would normally expect LH to outqualify JB, but that hasn't happened so far (3-2 to JB).

He'd not be my first bet, simply because I think the RBs will still have the edge in qualifying even if not in race pace (which doesn't matter much once you're out front at Monaco) and Vettel is good in the wet too, but 12-1! I'm really quite suprised by that...

Yeah I know, just being tongue in cheek after the weekend. But to be fair, last weekend's particular incident wasn't due to a heavy touch, just overweighting on that fast corner - he wasn't even pushing it that much as Alonso was catching him and he was coasting home*
*Although he did push the previous lap I believe.

Fair enough - I 'skim watched' it as we were dashing out - I just heard that as an initial explanation straight after the incident.
There was a stone lodged in the suspension upright on Hamilton's car, it effectively machined away the inside face of the tyre. Nothing he or the team could do about it.

Sutil's always worth a watch if it's wet - Merc power in the FI so it's probably the most driveable engine out there and he's proven himself to be a talented driver in the wet before. But if we get a wet quali and a wet race then it's really open so could be a corker (obviously not as good as MotoGP). And I'm away in the Lakes all weekend - do I hide from the TV & watch it when I get back or seek out the BBC3 re-run???

That way if it stays dry and turns out to be a snoozefest, you can just watch it on fastforward.
