Did they? Max is saying they have tyre issues and would’ve killed the soft, they do seem to have front end issues even if not as bad as he’s making out. Merc think RB are just keeping two sets of brand new sofas for the race.

Perez was hardly flying with his softs.

So not exactly a Ferrari level tactical blunder

I see the numpties on social media have blown up because LH "cheated in the start box" and got away with it. 🙄

I think he was half a sandwich nearer the start line than everyone else 😆

I don't see how that was Verstappen's fault at all.

However now could Hamilton do just a 1 stopper, having done 30 on the softs.

Depends which track and who needs the points.. its not a sport with rules that are followed. Almost as much of a joke as championship boxing scoring. The strongest driver won today.. Its a changing of the guard for sure.

LeClerc too, spoilt child behaviour! Well done George though, that was a cracking race…

Best weekend in my pub for ages.
Last night a barmaid brought in a half a dozen of her mates from a local lapdancing venue and today this.

Verstappen showing what a team player he is at the end…….

Seemed an odd shout from the team IMO. If they were nose to tail, fair enough. But wasn't Checo 4 secs down the road?

Same as in the sprint race. He could have swapped to give his team mate a better shot at 2nd place, behind him, in the championship at no loss to himself, as he’s already won it.

But didn’t.

Checo could be 3 points ahead of leclerc, going into the last race, but no.

Similar with leclerc and sainz, but I get not robbing sainz of a podium.

On a lighter note, I enjoyed Martin Brundles comment about Kings Lynn finally having a GP winner.

Verstappen gets more narcissistic every year - he really makes it difficult to like him despite his obvious talent.

Sky explaining that it might be to do with Checo “binning it” in Monaco, after getting provisional pole, causing Max to not be able to set a final time.

Max neither confirming nor denying anything.

this will come back to bite Max when he needs support next year. Multi 21 Max!

Edit, Checo wasn’t provisional pole (he was third) it’s just it stopped max having a final flying lap, meaning he got 4th. Ridiculous if that’s the reason.

Max is bulletproof at RB, as long as he is winning. Checo, if he doesn’t follow orders, not so much.

Hopefully from here on in Perez will just drive for himself. That team is not 100% toxic.

Reading that tweet about "team leader" reminded me of Michael Schumacher letting his brother unlap himself in the French gp, which gifted Ralf a point. It's that ability to play the wider game Max doesn't seem to have.

Maybe he'll leave RB in a few years time and turn out like Vettel... but I doubt it.

Well, that weekend had it all. Can we have a season with 10 races at Silverstone and 10 at Interlagos?

The thing that stands out for me is that Verstappen is at a psychological disadvantage to Hamilton. Verstappen has done some brilliant drives this year, he's shown that he can drive intelligently and not feel the need to charge in and try to pass every time there's a gap. Except when it comes to Hamilton. When it comes to Hamilton, he just seems to revert to his old self and refuse to back out when a collision is inevitable. He just seems to feel this need to validate himself by beating Hamilton. What we saw last year was that Hamilton will back out when it's smart to do so, but also get aggressive when he thinks it's needed. That pretty much lets Hamilton goad Verstappen into a collision whenever he wants to.

Yep - and with the rumours that Danny Ric is being lined up as Red Bull reserve next season the pressure will be on him again.

There's an argument to be made that if MV needed to settle the scores (whatever you think of that) doing so when it made no difference when they have won the Constructors and Drivers already seems like the best choice. Yeah he probably could've helped out Checo, but RB is his team, he can pretty much do what he wants, and he clearly wanted to settle things in his head.

That's the glossiest spin I can muster to put on what on the face of it otherwise, seems like pretty petulant behaviour - in front of the TV and SM who will treat it like that. Seems like Vettel /Webber all over again.

Throwing all neutrality to the wind, I’m really hoping the script for Abu Dhabi has Hamilton bagging the win to keep his record going, and Red Bull having to deal with not getting 1-2 in the drivers’ championship 🙂

It's an individual sport.

What has Perez done for Verstappen this year exactly? Max has walked it. He's needed no help or if there was help it wasnt critical in the outcome of the WC. The only way he could have helped this year is by being on holiday for most of it. Been a less competitive teammate than Bottas was to Hamilton.

In all honesty he's lucky to be in that car and able to win a race now and again.

Anyway congrats to George R. Glad he got a win.
