I'd have mirrored her mouth as well, it slants up to the right quite a bit, making it more symmetric would make her more attractive.

It's just make up. Nothing particular clever other than the editing.
Bunging the exposure up by three stops also helps a lot.
Amazingly, people don't look their best when filmed under one 15W bulb.
