Rooney is playing far far better than Carroll.
Don't get me wrong, he's been disappointing but unfair to single him out IMO.
Mainly singling him out because he's our most talented player which makes it even more disappointing.

Half the team didn't choke, Young was a bit unlucky, should have really hit the target but trying to smack it into the roof of the net was a fair option, Cole's attempts unfortunately was crap.
And as for big name celeb's Gerrard was our best player in the tounament.

Fair result tonight and overall for the tournament as far as England are concerned. Well drilled and well disciplined both tactically and in terms of temperament. Several players short of being serious contenders. Hodgson has shown good management decisions and we've seen some glimmers of promise that will hopefully be developed over the next couple of years.
Actually, and I hate to say it, but John Terry has been excellent throughout the tournament. I hope he now gets convicted and does bird of course, but credit where it's due.

Gerrard our best player in the group games but didn't even turn up tonight. Having said that, no-one did outside of the back four. A truly shocking performance from Same Old England. Can't pass, can't move, can't keep the ball (and can't score pens).
