It would be very fitting if they’d order a load of Tobby Carveries in.

With plenty of gammon?

The bookies have suspended betting on her losing the vote. You can still get odds on how much she'll lose by

If only you had been able to influence the deal some how… If only there was such a role as Brexit secretary… Oh hang on…

How stupid do these people think we are?

In the main very very stupid indeed, and they were proven right in June 2016.

Anyone with half a brain cell can see that Raab is a sweaty little creep with about as much political clout as a wilted leaf. Someone who repeatedly had his arse handed to him in ‘negotiations’ and just made himself (almost implausibly) look more of a bellend as a result. To the point where the Maybot just starting bypassing him because he was so utterly useless. At least David Davis kept one of our national reputations intact by putting a dent in the EU drinks budget.

But the Fail et al won’t have been telling it like that. They were pushing the line that it was the snide little continentals plotting and schemeing like some latter day Cardinal Richelieu. And the prats will lap it up.

Don’t underestimate the stupidity that is out there.

I enjoyed ‘casually mendacious’ to describe the UK government especially.

The full interview at the bottom of this page is quite entertaining.

I did manage to find some odds for May's deal losing about an hour ago.

A £1 bet would net you a 2p return, lol!

zippykona

Let’s not forget May couldn’t campaign as she is a diabetic.
Suicide by doughnut.

It's part of the post-brexit food plan, we can eat all the doughnut holes we want

Watching her speech now.

What drives May these days? Really, what makes her get out of bed?

Not wanting to go down as one of the worst PM's in living history?

Desperately trying to salvage something, anything so history won't be so harsh on her??

Cameron gambled on Brexit, lost, and at least had the humility to fall on his sword the day after the vote and resign

I expect May will do no such thing.

She’s an absolute clown shoe

The idea that we can accept an amendment that would be ruled out by international law is ridiculous. We are still indulging the fantasists and wasting time.

May about 10 mins ago:

Theresa May says a second referendum would be akin to telling voters "that we were unwilling to do what they had instructed".

She also dismisses no deal as an option, saying it would not deliver a transition period, secure the mutual rights of citizens or protect security co-operation.

So if I'm reading that right, brexit is over??

Whatever will we talk about on here?

I don't see it as an issue, the EU would never accept it, and it's widely thought it won't make it through the commons anyway.
It's just lip service more than anything.

This whole thing is just an absolutely ridiculous charade!

I’m half expecting her to just tail off, mid-sentence and just say “**** it!” and head to the pub

And it relies on May's deal being approved in the first instance. If May's deal is dismissed it becomes irrelevant.

Given that she and her hubby are so wealthy they could afford to plug all the pot holes in the UK with £50 notes, I too wonder why she hasn't done just that.. Some narcissistic sense of doing something probably..

That interview says all you need to know about the Minister for the 18th Century. Shit Thick.

JOB - 'The government doesn't set a schedule of tar riffs at the WTO. The government asks the WTO and then every single country that's a member gets a vote on whether we're allowed to follow that schedule'

JRM - 'No that's simply not correct'

Unfortunately shit suit; James O'Brien is very much correct. And if you type 5 words into Google you could find that out for yourself.

WTO accessions

Any state or customs territory having full autonomy in the conduct of its trade policies may become a member (“accede to”) the WTO, but all WTO members must agree on the terms. This is done through the establishment of a working party of WTO members and through a process of negotiations.

https://www.wto.org/english/thewto_e/acc_e/acc_e.htm

The large majority of changes to goods schedules take place under the so-called "1980 Procedures for the modification and rectification of Schedules". Under these procedures, all WTO members have an opportunity to review the proposed changes and to approve them if there are no objections from other members. In the absence of any objections, the proposed changes are "certified" by the WTO Director-General.

It's an abuse of public trust and he is using his position in public office to do it - HTAF there aren't misconduct in public office charges being pursued I don't know.

Sadly he isnt an idiot. It wouldnt be so bad if he was. Depressing but not bad as such. He just has a relaxed approach to accuracy.
Dont underestimate him by calling him thick.
He is continuing his fathers work.

Well Farage getting called out at least (BBC) for blatant lies, and will consider another referendum.

So the May deal stands to be voted on, no deviation, no changes. There can be no doubt this will be a verdict on the deal negotiated. That is quite important.

Also looks like we have 624 in the house, 313 secures it's defeat.

Nope. Repeating the same inaccurate and incorrect diatribe against the EU to someone who for years has spent his time disproving it and will have no issue calling you out on it, is not the mark of an intellectual giant.

The posh accent and shit suit might fool some.

Dont underestimate him by calling him thick.

Very much this. You only need look at the comments in the lbc page section heaping praise in him for being so polite in the face of such a rude man trying to get a reaction. It really doesn’t matter how vile his politics, people vote for him because of how he speaks.

A very dangerous man.

Yes very dangerous, though I do think I'd like to buy Alister Campbell a sparkling water at this point, plane speaking honesty in the middle of all of this.

Nice ‘Titanic’ analogy in the Guardian today: Rees Mogg and his ERG chums aren’t bothered about the iceberg of ‘No Deal’ as they know the lifeboats are reserved for those in first class

The rest of us can go down with the ship
