Yeah… turns out that ‘some’ added up to 52% in the end.
Ninfan, you read my post and thought you could win a point by picking up on the bit I agreed about. My miscalculation as to the extent of Brexit feeling is that part I feel stupid and let down about.
I was hoping you would be able to say something about the remainder of my post. I don't wish to plough through it all again, but how is your struggle to be free of the forced imposition of cultural diversity, and your wish to control your own countries destiny so different from that of Scottish nationalists? You were vociferously on the other side of that debate.
Nothing they say is interesting but it is becoming even clearer by the day both of them are trolls who you lot are continuing to feed and giving them the pleasure they are after.
If it gives them pleasure then fine, they can see the tide is turning against them, unless they are delusional. (brexiters eh?)
The tide is turning sooner than I expected, I don't know why I should be surprised, the Government could have handled brexit properly, but instead have spent the last two years "negotiating" with itself instead of the people they should have actually been negotiating with.
A return is on the cards, and it won't take 40 years to achieve it. Its great when your opponents defeat themselves.
People aren’t stupid, they watched UK factories closed and the same companies open new factories in Romania and Poland,
But what they didn't see is companies in the UK growing as they recruited skills from across the EU.
Now, this does bring up a good point in that these companies are not necessarily the ones in deprived post-industrial areas that need the help. But this is NOT a problem of the EU. The government could have invested in these areas, but it chose not to give a shit. Thatcher started it, and ever since then Tories have not cared. Nor for that matter did Blair, much. It's called neoliberalism.
But as we've shown, it's perfectly possible to solve these problems without leaving the EU; and leaving the EU will not fix it.
It seems that mooman and ninfan are looking for protectionist policies to revive UK low value manufacturing. This is not a good idea, really, because for that to happen our costs of living and hence salaries will have to plummet.
What should have happened was investing in high skill high value manufacturing. We simply cannot compete with the far East or subcontinent and it's foolish to try. We did, and we failed.
Leaving the EU and creating all these barriers to trade is not the solution. Investing in education, skills and manufacturing is.
going back to the Sky opinion poll
take away for me is not that virtually everyone surveyed thought that the government was handling brexit badly- thats been painfully obvious even to the most die-hard leavers from day1
rather that a majority now favour a 2nd 3 way ref: accept deal, leave on no deal or remain!
The government could have invested in these areas, but it chose not to give a shit.
Well, they've had the decision taken away from them now haven't they? After years of not listening, the government will now have no choice but to invest in these areas, otherwise we're all screwed. Ultimately this vindicates those in these areas voting for brexit, doesn't it?

Aw bless where is the money coming from? As the last 30 years have shown they can and will ignore areas that do not matter to winning an election. Check out the blue flags with stars on to see who invested most in deprived areas.
After years of not listening, the government will now have no choice but to invest in these areas, otherwise we’re all screwed. Ultimately this vindicates those in these areas voting for brexit, doesn’t it?
No it doesn't.
The choices of investing for the future or short term budgetary fire fighting are going to be ther just the same as they always are, except there will be more fires, and less money available.
the government will now have no choice but to invest in these areas, otherwise we’re all screwed.
Where's the money going to come from? I know you are in favour of small government and the "let the market decide" type of policy that goes with it.
After years of not listening, the government will now have no choice but to invest in these areas, otherwise we’re all screwed.
will this be at the same time as funding the NHS with the brexit bonus?
there won't be any money, even if the inclination was there, which it won't be.
LOL.

there won’t be any money, even if the inclination was there, which it won’t be.
Well, we could start with the ten billion quid a year we give to the EU... we could probably follow it up with Southern England vanity projects like HS2 and a third runway at Heathrow and then finally top it up with the cash we won't need to spend on increased infrastructure for the 3-500k a year people that currently arrive in the country every year
Now that nobody from abroad will want to come here due to the ongoing food riots, lack of medicines we won't need more trains and planes, Plus of course the fact that the NHS won't need any extra money cause of the rampant disease and lack of medicines killing off old people, and rationing solving the obesity crisis.
Job Jobbed.
The Leave campaign used and abused people in more deprived area. Now they have the result they wanted, those people are going to be let down like a pair of 26 Inc tyres.
I am sure Ninfan will laugh at them when it happens.
You mean, the money from the EU is not going to NHS, or farmers or fishermen ?
It is confusing !
After years of not listening, the government will now have no choice but to invest in these areas
Like the Thatcher govt did?
I don't think this is going to happen. They would rather make us a discount tax haven.
Labour would borrow to invest in them, but without a competitive stable export market (due to leaving) our economy won't grow to support the borrowing, and we really will be back to the 70s. Then Tories will blame Labour.
the cash we won’t need to spend on increased infrastructure for the 3-500k a year people that currently arrive in the country every year
They paid for themselves because they work and pay tax. The infrastructure work that they fund employs people.
Not sure economics is your strong suit is it ninfan?
After years of not listening, the government will now have no choice but to invest in these areas, otherwise we’re all screwed. Ultimately this vindicates those in these areas voting for brexit, doesn’t it?
You really havent been paying attention for the last 30 years. I never had you down as naive.
Your rightwing gov don’t care about any part of the U.K. apart from the south East or more namely the City of London, New Labour had a similar attitude but they did put money into the NHS and education.
You are going to be really angry when the Brexit promises turn out to be empty.
the government will now have no choice but to invest in these areas, otherwise we’re all screwed
Wow, your naivety is actually cute.
Do you actually think that the free market fantasyland of the brexiters involves billions being spent to improve the life chances of the poorest in this country, especially when theh brexiters have been the biggest proponents of austerity(check out moggs voting record) & brexit has already & is set to hit government finances further.
When the government has already wasted £2bn on brexit prep that could've been spent to help the poorest, you have to be a special kind of deluded to think this is about helping those at the bottom.
Could Ninfan explain specifically how brexit will make HIS life better?
Not politicians but himself.
I can tell him how leaving will make MY life worse if he likes.
we’re all screwed
At last, the penny drops!
Are you a stroppy teenager ? 😂
After years of not listening, the government will now have no choice but to invest in these areas, otherwise we’re all screwed.
Well if if you live in the south east, NI, Norfolk or I guess Liverpool then there will have to be massive investments in the roads, ports etc.
if you live in the low income more deprived areas yes you might get som investment in 10 years or so but the government have repeatedly said they want to improve STEM and or higher end services. IMO if you live there you are just as likely to be part of a social cleansing program and bulldozed out of existence.
making your life worse
well that is the true colour of the argument isn’t it. It is a national stain. We do not celebrate our success and are jealous of anyone who may have more opportunity or ability than ourselves so instead of working harder on ourselves we spend our energy tearing them down.
so ninfan that is it? You are this way due to jealousy of others and fear of your own ability... I actually pity you and all people like you.

AND those super-sucky vacuum cleaners! Don't downplay the whole project now. You might even be able to buy beer in pints.
the government will now have no choice but to invest in these areas, otherwise we’re all screwed.
Why, exactly?
Why not leave them to rot. After all the EU was the only real source of any investment in those areas and they didnt appreciate it so why would the UK government care?
Not sure economics is your strong suit is it ninfan?
He has one? 😨
He has one?
Kind of one. It rhymes with ‘polling’ (ironically).
Lots of people now see through it, however. He is becoming increasingly silly as the number of people who are still taken in by it are reducing, so he has to get a rise quicker nowadays. No way he can just leave something hanging there any more and ten people will scratch his itch for him. It’s a kind of critical mass thing.
Sad, eh?
Could Ninfan explain specifically how brexit will make HIS life better?
He will only answer with stupid comments as giving away the real reasons (such as less dirty foreigners in the country) will be admitting to who he really is and he would have 'lost' the game.
It rhymes with ‘polling’
Weird. **** doesn't rhyme with that.
It's clear he holds anyone who doesn't meet his very narrow view of the world with equal contempt.
such as less dirty foreigners in the country
This does depend though on which Brexit muppets lies, sorry, views of the future you believe.
After all Patel and co were promising a rather relaxed immigration policy for certain groups.
i) I’ll be able to buy a pound of sausages
Where were you promised a return to Imperial measure? Was it on the other side of the bus?
Looks like Ninfan has finally cracked, sad really, oh well. Can we bring back THM?
Looks like Ninfan has finally cracked, sad really, oh well.
It would be entertaining if not for a sneaking suspicion that most of the Brexit elites arent dissimilar (aside from those who see making lots of money out of the mess whilst pissing off to a safe distance).
I’ll be able to buy a pound of sausages
Always could - the EU only requires items to have a metric weight / volume, displayed at a size no smaller than any other system. Does not prevent also having the equivalent imperial. The government of the time could have decided to keep an imperial weight as the 'standard' but didn't, although they did decide to keep pints for heritage reasons. Look at your milk carton which is 568ml. No reason why the 'standard' for sausages couldn't have been 454g / 1lb,
Can we bring back THM?
I thought it was THM, only on less effective medication.
After years of not listening, the government will now have no choice but to invest in these areas, otherwise we’re all screwed.
Westminster has spent 40 years ignoring the former industrialised areas of the UK, they're not going to change now. That's as clear as the day is long.
If anyone has the faintest notion that there are people in Whitehall who have concerns about investment in high-end skills in areas like manufacturing, you're in for a long wait, despite it being a critical national skills issue. In my last job, I'd sit on cross-industry committees advising on investment in automotive and aerospace and ran some investment programmes - as soon as the politicos realised we needed long-term investment for 5-10 years to create a lasting impact, they were out of there - Ministers wanted to see 'tangible impacts' in 2-3 years. That's why the new apprenticeship levy has been a disaster.
ii) Making your life worse
I think this declaration means that I can now call @ninfan a nasty piece of work, without fear of ban or deletion. What an utter ****.
Ninfans been given enough rope to finally hang themselves it seems when being spiteful is the best argument by thier own admission, they can muster.
Channel 4 news on the insulin supply chain right now, for those that care about "the NHS" (i.e. the lives of Brits). The ambassadors for Belize that ran the supposedly anti elite Brexit campaign, don't care, obviously.
think this declaration means that I can now call @ninfan a nasty piece of work, without fear of ban or deletion. What an utter ****.
Don't be too hard on him. It takes a lot of effort to sink that low.
Every morning, practising his sneer in the bathroom mirror as he tries to remember who he used to be before the, you know, incident...

Marcus Fysh is having his arse handed to him on Newsnight. Utterly cringeworthy!
In favour of Brexit:
I’ll be able to buy a pound of sausages
Well that's me persuaded then.
… just realised, I always have been able to buy a pound of sausages – so now I'm confused again.
These days I buy them by number
just realised, I always have been able to buy a pound of sausages – so now I’m confused again.
yes but you will be buying them from a british person who will happily show you their blue passport if requested
