Hi folks, anyone help me with the following.
How long does it take to get one and how long do they last?
Is it just valid for one trip etc

cannot seem to find the answers to this on the website.

Any help appreciated.

Ta.

they last 6 months - I think

I got mine back in around 12 hours

I'd just edit the details for subsequent trips

- About 5-10mins if you have your passport handy.
- 2 years
- No, multi-trips.
- At this time, they are only used for air travel, not for land borders.

N.B. Print a copy of the ESTA confirmation and take it with you. The US border guards do not need it, and the airlines probably won't need it, but may ask for proof in some situations. Long story summary: my wife was bumped off her American Airlines flight from Lima>Miami because she couldn't give them the ESTA number at check-in.

Ours were confirmed instantly, don't know if being a regular visitor in the past helps with that. Lasts 2 years, multi trip. You (assuming you are full UK citizen) still need to fill in form one I-94 each (same questions as the ESTA) and a single customs form per family, they hand both out on the plane. Then when you get there you queue for immigration and get fingerprinted and retina scanned. There are no plans to replace the forms with the ESTA, just to use ESTA as a pre-screen.

Mine was confirmed instantly. I travel to the states roughly once every year or so.
