We will be in touch
We have a ebay shop selling items that are also displayed and sold in a retail shop.
As we are often selling these items in the retail shop, these items are then removed from the ebay listings.
Can anyone tell me if by doing this, it will have an affect on the shop and the ebay account?
One item was being listed at approx £400+ for 2 weeks, this was then sold in the retail shop, an email had been received from ebay, but I cant find it now to read fully what had been sent.
Thanks.
Any email form ebay should appear in your messages within ebay
They are cracking down on people advertising items on ebay then selling them outside ebay and avoiding fees.
I think they are just upset when eBay facilitates a sale, i.e. introduces a buyer and then you sell without eBay getting their cut.
I.e. if they see evidence of messages saying can I buy off eBay or they think you are doing that then they will restrict your account.
If someone buys without seeing it on eBay thats fine. Just continue to end / edit your listings.
Can't imagine its practical to maintain separate inventory for all your shopfronts.
As long as it's BIN crack on
They seem to be making things harder. Probably need to. Was talking to someone last night who wants to have an auction but naturally wants people to view first. (Who the hell would buy anything used of value and not inspect first?) It seems as if they won't let any contact details be shown until after the sale. Now how does a buyer arrange inspection then?
in theory you should be able to cancel no problem, as others have said you can no longer communicate and if they find you have sold off ebay then the new T&Cs (personal accounts) they will charge you the regular 10% final value fee..
ebay are getting ridiculous they have snooped on my messages before and i have had warnings for selling direct.
but they told a female friend recently that they could not investigate private messages between ebay users , when she complained a person had messaged asking if she liked to wear the boots in bed making love, that she had listed to sell.
if im buying bike gear and i see a username or details like a shop, i'll always google the shop and buy direct, save fees for the seller.
its difficult for ebay to police

Down the bottom of a listing, any business seller will have their phone number and email address listed.
This is just eBay being greedy, they are making money hand over fist. If they make it too awkward people will desert it.
