Why is it some people have to play by the rules to the point of stupidity? I saw something on Ebay I wanted. It was only £20 and nearly new, and turns out the seller also lives in the same city (Plymouth)
I sent a message just asking the guy is it possible to pick it up from his or at a neutral location as chances are Ill live only 10 mins away and just give him cash in hand, which is ultimately better than waiting and paying Paypal to accept it and draw it into his account. Also, he hasent the hassle of packaging it up and going to the post office.
He replied with: "As I am using Ebay and their tarrifs I would prefer to post the item and avoid any dealings in person to protect you and myself through the use of Paypal and its sale of goods procedures"
Im all in favour of sticking to common sense rules, but this just seems a bit pedantic and sad personally. Alternatively, hes just wanting the extra £2 he will make off the postage. Whatever the reason, I just think its a bit lame really!
What does everyone else think?
You get your item in the post, and pay £2. Worrying about that is quite "lame" isn't it?
Do you want to be his friend? 🙂
It's the guys decision, not ebay rules.
I recently was going to buy a £500 lens form a bloke who lives 5 miles away. He wouldn't let me collect it. I didn't buy it. Easy.
You could offer to pay via Paypal and still pick up in person?
