I just recently decided to sell some stuff on Ebay and so far it's been a pain in the a***e!.
Firstly I sold something this morning and the "buyer" hasn't paid. Do I just re-list it? I thought you entered into some kind of contract if you "won" and item????
More important - I sold a jacket to a woman and she has now decided that she wants a refund as she alleges that I wrongly sold it as a size 14 and that she thinks it's more like a 16/18. Its definitely a 14 as that is my size and it fits me fine. I told her to return it and I will refund the cost of the jacket as long as it is in re-saleable condition. She has emailed me tonight saying that the Post Office quoted £12.25 for postage and she feels that should pay this too. (It actually cost me £7.00 to send it to her but I charged her 4.00 p&p. ) I think by law I have to refund the jacket but not the postage. Am I right????
Yup refund cost of jacket, not additional postage. Next time take a pic of the label with the size and if it doesn't fit them then that is just tough. I presume these are not being sold from a shop and are second hand goods? They don't come with the same kind of guarantee as new.
I'm having a mare myself on ebay with some bloke in Portugal whose won some brake pads and now doesnt want to pay for a recorded postage service, even though its stated in my sale terms. If you have 'invoiced'them and made follow up contact raise it as non payment with ebay.
I always state 'approx' measurements for any clothing I sell, so there should be no come back.
Oh and I'd tell her tough, you pay the return posatge! It's no different to having to pay return postage for normal purchases elsewhere.
Sometimes ebay is more trouble than it's worth...
First one - you need to give a bit more time
Second one - does it have a sizing label? how clear were you on the ad?
thats the difference between her returning it cos she don't like it - she pays postage and you refunding it cos it was wrongly advertised - you pay postage
I said on the label of the jacket it's XL but fits size 14 but she says it's too big for her and as I said previously she claims it's not her fault. I think she is trying to turn this around into a complaint so that I give her the postage but I have clearly said it FITS SIZE 14.I have always been realistic about my own size and I know for sure it fits me and I am size 14! GRRRRR!!!! I think I will go with you guys and tell her she will only get the money for the jacket NO POSTAGE costs. After all, when you buy stuff of CRC & Wiggle they don't pay the postage unless they are at fault.
The buyer who hasn't paid - I have just re-invoiced him and hope he pays up tomorrow. Was hoping to give up my day job LOL!!!!!
This isn't like STW is it? If I get something on here, I just sell it on if it's not suitable but most people on this site are really honest and reliable. Oh my halo!
