hi im selling this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280684323426&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT#ht_500wt_949 but i cant work out if it has a reserve on it there was no option to put one on so i thought a buy it now might have the same affect? i don't want to get in the same situation which ive been in before where my reserve price didn't work and the winning bidder threatening to take me to court? should i stop the auction now or wait until the end? im not selling it for any less than the buyitnow price as its worth more to me if i keep it than selling it for less

Doesn't look like there is a reserve set. I would pull it and start again as it isn't a great advert anyway. Poor pictures, poor text and bad finish time mean you won't get top dollar. I think the buy it now option disappears when someone bids (which they have)

IIRC you can't put reserve prices on till you reach a certain amount of feedback.

And no - Buy It Now will NOT protect you from someone winning an auction under that amount.

If you aren't prepared to sell for what you think might be a cut price, don't use Ebay.

Can't help with your question but... quickly and off the cuff (I'm no english teachers) but please replace your text with this, as it has some punctuation 😈 :

I have for sale, my series 1 truck cab, as I've bought a full hardtop this is now surplus. The condition of the metal work is in a good nick, apart from 2 holes either side of the rear cab, where i presume someone has tried fitting work lamps. The other down side is someone has done a bit of a bodge job of painting it, it was originally green, but they've painted the roof in black hammerite, and the sides silver. This though is all cosmetic, and can be solved and restored easily with a bit of work. It has a large top hinged rear window, instead of the smaller sliding perspex ones. The windows are in good nick, with all round good seals, though the main rear window needs some sort of latch fitting to hold it shut. I haven't bothered finding one, as my intentions were to always go for a hardtop, so it seemed pointless

Please note: the pictures in the advert are from the previous seller I purchased the full landrover off. I can email you the relevant pictures on request, as ebay wont let me upload them onto the sight

Any Questions I'll happily answer

Put some proper picture of the cab onto a site like FlickR then put a link to them from your ad....

If i were you i would cancel the auction and appologise to the 1 bidder. You dont want it going for pennies! Contact Ebay and say there was a mistake in the listing. Not been using ebay for a wee while so nto too familiar with selling, but im pretty sure there is an option to ammend your listing and add yoru reserve. Im probably wrong though

Your listing is dodgy anyway, cancel the auction, do it again, ask somebody for help if you don't know how to write proper sentences (although you do it here, often enough).
Take photos of what you're actually selling, upload them and only them. Make it clear, obvious, certain.

A very quick read up on the Ebay site...

If you don’t see the reserve price option on the form, click the Show/Hide Options button at the top of the 'Sell your item' page.

But relist showing the cab only - that ad is misleading and not helping potential buyers.

IIRC no reserve for auctions under £50?

It appears you were very lazy in your listing and this is coming across - take a bit of effort and see better results.

As above really, scrap it and start again.

I find the best policy for eBay is to keep adverts simple looking. No fancy fonts, no different colours or backgrounds.

But don't swing to far in that direction and put too little info - if the seller can't be arsed doing a proper ad, you sometimes have to consider how arsed they'll be posting something promptly/at all.

You're knackered then. Can only cancel an auction with + 12 hours left to run. Someones getting a bargain / negative feedback with their first transaction.

Unless you want someone here to bid it up so we are the winning bidder then you leave us feedback saying how wonderful we are etc.

If you want me to just say and I am happy to put a big bid in. (Obviously this means it won't sell though).

Agreed but better than selling it for less than he wants for it.

yeah but can't he cancel the sale, once it's completed, as long as the buyer doesn't riase a complaint/bad feedback
(isn't this how the scammers get good feedback)

PS: With regards to "i spent 2 hours trying to write the if i could write full sentences i would but being severely dyslexic
i find it hard to
That's fair enuff, I really really only added in comma's and full stops to make it a bit more readable (to be helpful & as it;s currently painful to read), not to take the piss out of your disability (or lack of english grammar). Clear Ad's work better...

basic fail: Know what you're selling. It's not a series 1, but a IIa or III,
I'd relist for that reason, let alone the others mentioned above.

i know the landrover isn't a series 1 its a series 3 but i was informed that the cab was from a series 1 and another reason im trying to stop the auction is that i was informed by a family friend that it might even be a cut down hardtop with a different back on it and if you actually read the ad i mention the vehicle isn't for sale
