Anything MkI Escort now seems to command surprising money as long as it's got a plate - lots of fake / replica Mexicos and RS going for silly money. Seen some not much better than that pile of scrap going for thousands.

I remember some of my mates had fully functioning, MOT'd examples as first cars bought for less than that one is being offered for..

Mk IIs are also starting to command what I think are silly prices, but market forces are market forces..

That wreck is easily worth £600 - possibly a lot more (to a scrote). Its got a log book and a chassis number plate - that all you need to nick the white one above and give it a new identity.

My glasses were bought from an eBay optometrist. Could be why I misread the title.

Yes indeed, its a real shame the owner of those didn't sell one and fix the roof! 🙂

I suspect the seller knows this, hence a specific photo of the VIN plate.

Indeed - I think most of the damage would polish out.

I wonder if it could be driven home?

Pessimists will tell you that glasses are half empty
Optimists will tell you that glasses are half full
Optometrists will tell you that the second pair of glasses are half price

I feel for the mug who'll be parting the best part of £30k for the tarted up fake.[/url]

Optimists will tell you that glasses are half full
Optometrists will tell you that the second pair of glasses are half price
And an engineer will tell you that the glass has been built to the wrong specification.

It looks like someone nicked it and crashed it in his field in 1977 and he has spent the next 40 years finding the right documents to sell it.

i cannot believe anyone is buying anything like the op post or the one above.
as someone said above, pure fraud and criminality is the only reason for the sale. then i can't believe anyone is buying the said car from the criminals. id say an e-type jag or a ferrari f40 is a classic , a mk1 escort though? each to there own

£135 for some used Hope pedals. Because they're green. Well, very faded and possibly were green at some point.

As long as it's got the Log Book, VIN tag and at least half of the other VIN stamps present it will be a candidate for a reshell, that's where the money is tied up in it! The missing mechanicals, trim etc don't matter as it would probably end up as a rally car.

That is a work of shart. I think I'll choose to call out the tyre valves.
