Not bought much on ebay so im looking for any tips / pointers in securing the item im after.
Im planning on starting my bidding in the last 20 mins and also using a sniping tool (myibidder). Going to place a low bid to see if any auto bids come back first and then set my max on the sniper.
Any other suggestions please?

Don't bother entering any prior bids. Bid once...at your maximum amount...and bid in the last second with a sniper.

If you bid 20mins from the end you'll end up paying more for it.

Gaah, lost out because the auction wouldnt accept my bid, because the seller doesnt ship to my area! FFS he'd already agreed that he would if I won, prior to me placing a bid.

+1 for what dooosuk said, that also stops you paying more than you wanted for it by avoiding bidding hysteria.

bid in last 5 seconds with the max amount you think it's worth and not a moment before

as they said, bid only once, right before the end and make it the most you'd pay, but an odd number - like £5.71 rather than £5.50
