Bidding on Ebay at the moment but something feels fishy...

99p start price, and my max bid was £50. Theres only been 1 bid (Me) and the bidding is at £50! Am i being dumb or should the bidding be at 99p with my bid, but upto £50 if someone else bids on it as well?

I've used Ebay off and on for years but this has me scratching my head..

Stop bidding

bid once
bid very late [last few seconds]
bid your maximum + a few pence

£50 reserve perhaps? If you bid over the reserve price the bid jumps from whatever it was to the reserve.

Again I'd suggest it's a reserve issue, as a 99p bid didn't actually win the item it went up to your max trying to match the reserve?

Does the item have a reserve?

No, no reserve. Just a 99p starting price. £50 isn't a bad price at all, it just seems strange it jumped from 99p to £50 with 1 bid.

2 days to go so I'll see what happens.
