Why does there seem to be a lot of used cameras for sale without their specific batteries?

Is it the case that there is a fault which they are trying to hide by selling it as untested due to no battery? Or do they just lob the batteries so they don't have to test them?

Dunno but if my experience of selling something on STW is anything to go by, people complain about batteries they've not charged at all and threaten to get the burning torches and pitchforks out.

Possibly something to do with posting batteries? Maybe internationally>? Dunno really.

.....maybe if they are upgrading but staying with same manufacturer old battery fits new camera = more shooting time

btw i have a cannon Li-on battery that has never been used (camera is attached to a machine at work which provides the power) if anyone needs

Ok, perhaps Im being cynical. But if it worked with the battery why wouldnt you say so, rather than implying it probably works but they wont guarantee that it does?
Surely you'd get more from the auction with a battery included (only around £10-15)?

Ah, definitely different, thanks for going to the effort of digging it out, though
