I have an HTC One X and would like to put a couple of films on it - what is the best/easiest way to do this? Many thanks as always T
Handbrake or MPEG Streamclip should do it. MX Player on the phone should let you play most formats.
If you search the forum for "handbrake", there's been a couple of threads about this recently, should give you more info.

I couldn't get Handbrake to do anything with any DVD I fed it.
But this has done 3 out of 4 so far (actually 4 out of 4, but one always seems to have the director's commentary on it, haven't managed to sort that out yet):

You probably need something like DVD43 as well. Most commercial DVDs are protected to stop you from ripping them.
This [url= http://www.freemake.com/ ]Freemake[/url] also works well.
DVD Shrink lets you remove subtitles, menus etc.
MX player or BS player then files in mp4 , avi, mkv format.
