Fancy ripping some dvds to the hard-drive rather than cart them around.
What preferably free program is good for this and easy to use?

DVD shrink seems to work ok for me and if you want to convert stuff from the net to go on DVD then AVS video converter 6.2

Handbrake works for me on OSX.

New versions of handbrake don't rip. I use DVD Decrypter, which works very well.
