I know how to do this but am having a mental block....
How do I limit a column in excel so that it is only possible to select from a list e.g. No, Yes, Not Required?
Where do I define the available options and how do I limit the cells to only allow thos options?
My head is so full of custard I can't even work out how to google it.

Data Validation then restrict the input to a list .
If you only have a couple of variables you want to allow, e.g. "Yes", "No" and "Not Required" you can include it in the data validation control rather than referencing a separate list somewhere in the spreadsheet
Data > Validation
For the box for "Allow" select "list" and in the source box, instead of referencing cells, enter "Yes,No,Not Required" (not with the " marks though)
