ive just got some chains on...with decent tyres on my astra,will people stop complaining about snow and get on with it,

Only use them on snow, as soon as you get to a clear road remove them or they'll damage the road and your car. Apart from that drive slowly when they're on and expect a lot of noise.

Being smug and condescending is all well and good, but then following it up with a request for tips = FAIL. 🙄 😛

Fit the chains correctly and you should be fine for driving at speeds up to 50-60km/hr. You can still drive on tarmac without problems.

If the roads are clear in the evening and there is a threat of snow put the chains on. It will be easier to take them off in the morning if the snow doesn't come than it will be to put them on.

Not much else that wouldn't come under common sense.
