Canary Wharf area specifically, from the West. Will it take a million years? Google reckons take the direct route through Victoria Embankment. Better than going around the M25?

take the direct route through Victoria Embankment.

yep. Its quite quick right time of day. Through to Tower Hill and A13. Some roadworks at blackfriars but you should sail under them.

It would be say 10-11am tomorrow morning.

I'm late, I haven't packed, I'm tired and I am not sure I can face a 6.30am mad rush to the station tomorrow morning.

Of course Friday afternoon will be a nightmare on the way back...

LOL come around the East Side of the M25 and go onto the M11 East
This will bring you onto the A406 East which in a way is one long road as to speak

Follow the A406 East to the Beckton round about and then follow A13 West.
stay on the A13 to Canningtown and turn left of fly over (and don't go over fly over)

Turning left off the A13 will bring you to Silver Town Way and your hotel will be Three minutes
from turning left of the A13.

Well the direct route was grim
As it happens I am going back tonight now, do I take the North Circular then or M11/M25?

Both as bad as each other!

To give you an example of how bad it is. I work at Canary Wharf and live in Woodford Green(Bottom of M11) I rarely drive to work but my OH does. She leaves at 6 and normally gets home about 7!

Depending how far you ahve to drive/how much you loathe sitting in traffic I would be tempted to wait until 7ish before setting off.

Yeah will have to wait until 7 or even 8taking to get away anyway. Either route better than through town though I assume.

All routes are so susceptible incidents/RTAs it is hard to pick one over other. Just read above you are heading west.

I would be tempted to just head straight along embankment, past Earl's Court then A4/M4. Do Canary Wharf to Reading 4/5 times a year leaving work at 6 on a Friday always take this route, normally pass Junction 12 by 8:15.

Bikebouy - long story but normally train and bike yes.

Came in via Victoria Embankment this morning, took an hour and ten or thereabouts. Quicker at 7pmthe do you think?

From Canary Wharf car park to the NSL on the M4 last night took me 45 mins! A new personal record! Set off at about quarter to eight, got home at half past ten.
