I'm driving from London to Fishguard (Wales) tomorrow, need to be there by 1.15 pm. What time should I leave? I'll be going down the M4, do I need to worry about Bristol? What about Wales, any potential problems there? Help much appreciated, really!

The M4 between J16 and Bristol can be chocker between 8 and 9. Also there's 50mph speed limits imposed between those junctions due to road works!

The locals. The sheep. The language barrier. The weather.
Some, more or none of those could be a factor. 😉

Munqe-chick, I did London to Wroclaw (Poland) earlier this year, twice the distance, heavier load in a car, nerves jungling. Hopefully this ride will be easier. Thinking of leaving around 6.30 in the morning, by 7.00 on the M4 of A312, 100 miles to Bristol (-ish), than 150 on top of that. Fun, will be fun.

If you leave by 0630, you'll be fine. It'll be a bit sheeite around Reading and a bit sheeite around Brizle and then a bit sheeite around Caerdydd. But you'll make it in plenty of time.

Bring £5.40 in loose change (no copper) to save queueing at the bridge.

average speed cameras- lots of them in wiltshire and the 50mph zone around cardiff. also it's a long way on poor roads from the end of the m4 to fishguard. Oh and the forecast for tomorrow sucks so take it easy.

Hit the M1 once, 100's of them for miles on end. Hateful stuff, can't help it.
