Hey all,

Sure they'll be a few of you with experience of this.

My Rab needs a clean, is it a case of me hand washing it( with special stuff?) or a dry clean job?

thanks in advance! (it's got a bit of a wiff..)

If its anything like alpkit, its ok to wash. Do it on it's own.
Use some nikwax downwash if you want to condition and proof it.

To dry, put it in the dryer on its own with some tennis balls.

Have done it plenty of times with lots of down stuff and not had any problems. I do it at 30deg though.

Cheers, but yeah I don't have a tumble dryer ( could try the laundrette though)

Will get some of the nikwax downwash you mention, thanks.

Just before its dry, tumbledry on a low heat, this stops the down clumping up.

send it to that place in sheffield. i do mine every couple of years and just give it a wipe down with a damp cloth and an airing in between.

had my rab for over 15years and the down still holds it's loft because it's never had a soaking.

proper down wash in the machine at 30, tumble dry on a high heat with tennis balls, comes out like new every time.
