This is why it is so important that police officers be issued with Tasers or other non-lethal weapons. It is clearly inappropriate to use lethal force in the context of a snowball fight, but it is also unacceptable that the officer had no proportionnate means of protecting himself against this attack. If he had been able to use a Taser against his assailants he could have brought calm to the situation and achieved the compliance of the suspects without using lethal force.

Video taken at the scene shows people pelting a man with snowballs after his car, a Hummer, gets stuck in the snow.

I can see why he drew a gun. If I owned a 4wd and got it stuck in the snow, I'd make sure there were no witnesses left standing.

Everyone knows that snow is made of water, and that water conducts electricity. If he used a tazer [i]everyone[/i] in the whole snowball fight would be tazered and sprawling on the ground. This scenario would overwhelm the policeman, and he might then do something irrational.

Indeed, as in Cats Cradle, since the earth is about 90% water, virtually everyone on the panet wold get tazered.

capable for that, unless it was sheet ice, and there were plenty of normal RWD cars passing there so I doubt it. He probably just got cheesed off at people launching snowballs at his car and stopped and got out.

I don't understand the problem - Americans have guns right? That's what they do. Gotta respect a man with a gun - dis him and you get killed right? So they have a fair society with everyone respecting each other and those that don't get weeded out.

I have been unreasonably annoyed by this guy.
