Well go back 15 years how many of the forecasts were right? The green revolution has reached its limits, pollination of fruit trees has to be done by hand because the bees have been poisoned, soils are becoming impoverished. Parts of India and China are on their way to becoming a new dust belt. You have to feed and water a population, a population that's aspiring to the toys the rich have. Those GDP projections are based on a good proportion of Chinese having western levels of consumption. They can divert production to satisfy domestic demand but then they won't generate the foreign currency to pay for oil, minerals food and water. There's a natural limit on the size of their economy.

Fair enough but in 2016 where is China on the GDP/world economy scale? Is it in give a shit or don't give a shit territory?

Even the US army has just given Trump something else to moan about by stopping the oil pipeline.

That's a massive line in the sand, the vested interests will be screaming.

I agree, it IS a massive line in the sand but do you note he's not threatening foreign imports, those companies who already offshored their jobs etc, only those planning to do so. I'd imagine some of the "vested interests" are his family, mates and advisors too so the screaming could be close by.

The nuclear apocalypse would be a bad thing obvs,

But just imagine those last few humans, skirting the radiation zones, scavaging for tins of food, always alert for giant mutant scorpions or cannibals, struggling keep their families alive, all of this horror and in the back of your mind knowing that it's all because some orange faced billionaire with paper thin skin couldn't keep from throwing tantrums on Twitter 😯

Could the NSA not put a childlock on his phone?

The restaurant's owner, James Alefantis, a Democratic Party donor, appears in the emails in relation to organising a Democratic fundraiser.
Users of 4chan and another message board Reddit claimed that words in the emails, such as cheese, hot dog, and pizza, were code for young children and sex acts.

Wow and we thought we had loons over here and on STW

The U.S. is going to substantialy reduce taxes and regulations on businesses, but any business that leaves our country for another country, fires its employees, builds a new factory or plant in the other country, and then thinks it will sell its product back into the U.S. without retribution or consequence, is WRONG! There will be a tax on our soon to be strong border of 35% for these companies wanting to sell their product, cars, A.C. units etc., back across the border. This tax will make leaving financially difficult, but these companies are able to move between all 50 states and negotiate a tax free deal! Our country cannot keep losing these jobs, & won't these companies are able to move between all 50 states, with no tax or tariff being charged. Please be forewarned prior to making a very expensive mistake! THE UNITED STATES IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS

Harking back a few pages but..

chewkw said:
The whole world is looking at him so I doubt he is going to be so naive to involve his family that much.

So I see that Trump hosted a meeting with Shinzo Abe, the Prime Minister of Japan, at Trump Tower.

And for some strange reason Trump brought along his favourite daughter Ivanka to that meeting (y'know the one he would like to date). The press were not invited to the meeting and no summary of what was discussed was issued.

By some equally strange coincidence, at the same time, Ivanka's fashion company was hosting an exclusive two-day private viewing of products in Tokyo as they try to finalise a licensing deal with the Japanese apparel giant Sanei International. A deal that they have been working on for two years.

That's Sanei International, whose majority shareholder is the Japanese government!

But yeah, no conflicts of interest there at all..

Mike do you genuinely see no conflict of interest here? Either Trump is genuinely stupid or he was abusing his position to benefit his daughters company.

Ya, daughter sitting in the meeting is perfectly fine.

They're fiiine 🙂

Oppositions are trying it on that's all coz they just want to make life as difficult as possible for the President Elect Trump to prove a point. Ya, normal opposition behaviour that. 😛

Your unquestioning loyalty to Trump is absolutely fascinating to me chewkw.

Several times already he has done the exact opposite of what you said he would do and you've excused him or actually applauded him for it. 😕

What would your reaction have been if, in an alternate reality, President Elect Clinton had brought Chelsea along to an unreported meeting with Theresa May, while Chelsea was negotiating a deal for the government to distribute her book?

Would you have been fiiine with that too?

No its obvious, however I'm neither shocked or surprised. Despite all his yelling he is in it for himself. This is the first of many (maybe 2nd if we count the hotels in Taiwan)

Michael Moore now suggesting Trump won't become president:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/michael-moore-donald-trump-electoral-college-presidential-election-prediction-a7464216.html

As somebody who predicted Trump would win the election from way back when almost nobody else gave him a chance, he's somebody who's opinions you should pay attention to.

Did you actually read that article, aracer? Nowhere does he predict Trump will not become president. All he says is that something else crazy may happen, which is a long way from being a prediction.

As much as I'd like it to be true, that story is certainly nothing to get hopes up over.

Have we done the stories about Trumpettes boycotting Kellogs:

And Star Wars:

"The media organisation, previously run by US President-elect Donald Trump's chief strategist Steve Bannon, said the move by Kellogg's to cease advertising was "an escalation of war"."

Why did Breitbart think they were at war with Kelloggs before? Did they not get a Tony the Tiger reflector in their Frosties?

As for,

"Jack Posobiec, who claimed the writers changed the film to add scenes linking Mr Trump to racism."

I think these scenes are going to stick out a bit tbh. "We must destroy the death star! The Bern will be with us, always! PS Donald Trump, who will be born a long time from now in a galaxy far away, is a pure racist fanny"

It's a bit like when Rush Limbaugh decided that Batman had a baddy called Bane to make people think Mitt Romney was evil, because Liberals.

Not to mention that he seems to be gathering together a coven of creationist, climate change denying nutters as his staff. The latest one has spent his life working with oil companies suing the EPA. So no bias there then. Who was it who was saying his cabinet will be immune from lobbying?
Who was it who was saying his cabinet will be immune from lobbying?

If all the lobbyists are in his cabinet then they won't need to lobby, problem solved.

Though I think it's just liberal* lobbyists he has a problem with

* that being an insult in the US, where they don't like people who think of those other than themselves

Well, I see that the FBI are carrying on their fine Hoover era tradition of aiding the enemy....I bet the CIA budget department are laughing their balls off in terms of competition for funding.

Currently Trump at odds with the CIA over claims Russia aided his campaign by hacking both but only releasing the Democrat stuff.
In other news

Man from big oil to head up EPA.... we going to be a digging and a burning again.

Since becoming the top prosecutor for the oil- and gas-producing state in 2011, Mr Pruitt, 48, has launched multiple lawsuits against regulations put forward by the agency he is now poised to lead, suing to block federal measures to reduce smog and curb toxic emissions from power plants.

"The American people are tired of seeing billions of dollars drained from our economy due to unnecessary EPA regulations, and I intend to run this agency in a way that fosters both responsible protection of the environment and freedom for American businesses," Mr Pruitt was quoted as saying.

The transition team statement called Mr Pruitt "a national leader against the EPA's job-killing war on coal" who will help implement Mr Trump's energy plan.

And being reported that the CEO of Exxon is to be secretary of state, in case there was any doubt.

"So what do you think about sanctions on Russia Mr Tillerson?"
"Well, when I was CEO for Exxon we wrote an oil deal worth $500bn with Russia, which we had to cancel because of sanctions. But that doesn't affect my opinion..."

People with business experience running a country. It's certainly different and is just what America voted for. I know posters here don't buy the logic that wealthy business people are less corruptable by politicans who wish to become wealthly but it matters not what STW think, that's what the American voters believe and it should also be understood that people who have made money in business are respected by working class Americans.

The whole hacking story just shows up holes in Democratic Party security procedures and makes them look unfit to Govern.

Trump is going to be President and IMO is going to do a decent enough job to get relected in 2021. The anti-Capitalist protestors are going to go into meltdown as he is going to focus on US Economic prosperity.

The republican party was also hacked. Info was stolen and not published, Somebody in the Russian government made that decision.
[insert blatant speculation] Who's to say that the Republicans have not been blackmailed by the Russians? Done a deal? Might explain all that traffic between the Russian Bank and Trump servers[/insert blatant speculation]

People with business experience running a country.

Nothing against that, just putting the guy who has spent the last few years trying to sue the EPA to remove what is fairly weak in a world sense seems a fairly obvious conflict of interest.

Maybe they didn't find any evidence of the Republican Party plotting to undermine one of their own candidates, and leaking debate questions to their favoured one?

As long as you don't take the environment, minorities, average Americans quality of life, foreign policy, healthcare, women's rights, the constitution or civil liberties into account then I agree that Trump will do a successful job in making himself richer as he lies and tweets his way through four years. Obviously that's only based on things he's said, his past actions and a bit of speculation.

ah he's back 😉 seeing as the published every email the stole to wikileaks it seems a little one sided. If that doesn't make you at least a little curious as to why....

Couple that with the glowing praise of Putin, the server traffic etc. it's enough to be dodgy by your high standards for proof.
