but Fox News are already toning down their support.

Some bits of Fox are, but the bit that MAGA boomers watch; Laura Ingham, Sean Hannity, all that nonsense, is still 100% behind Trump. Their latest tactic is when Trump does stupid things, just blame the democrats.

Apparently the Nazis used pink triangles to mark gay prisoners in concentration camps, or something like that. So Nazi anti-gay symbol.

It’s the social media outlet he set up when he was banned off Twitter (pre Elon, natch)

It's a social media platform.. A bit like Twitter or Facebook, but owned by Donald Trump.

Reckon Doug Ford will turn the lights off..?

I think he should just randomly flick the power off for a second, every so often.  Just long enough to reset the clock on everyone's microwave.

Alright, calm down Satan! 🙂

Anyone else suspect Musk and his employe Trump are just trying to tank the market a bit, s&p500 etc? Before buying into it heavily?

Market manipulation would be totally on brand for them.

That the tariff war will hurt the average American on the street with price rises is just an 'unfortunate' side effect.

I said a couple of weeks ago that most of his billionaire cabinet will be selling shares so that they can buy them back in a months time after the tariffs were in place, a little bit of insider trading would be par for the course with most of the people he's put into government

The last time Trump was the President he didn't manage.  He then took a good beating for the following 4 years while in the wilderness.  He then gained from his experience and this time he comes back to take revenge on those who made his life rather unbearable. Trump will "double down" on all those that oppose him regardless, and he is supported by some "invisible" powers (the ones who are truly influential with money and swing both ways).  Be prepared to take a roller coaster ride for the remaining Trump presidential term because there will be plenty more to come.  Real estate property in the middle east etc, do you have? No? Then join the Trump roller coaster ride.

Removing the department that investigates insider trading would have to be the crown jewels of jobs for Elon's meme-named gang of anarchy kids.

The thought occured to me to look up what documents he snuck out last time they let him charge -

"According to the indictment, the 31 documents describe U.S. nuclear weapons; foreign military attacks, plans, capabilities, and effects on U.S. interests; foreign nuclear capabilities; foreign support for terrorist activity; communications with foreign leaders; U.S. military activities; White House daily foreign intelligence briefings; potential vulnerabilities of the United States and its allies to military attack; and plans for possible retaliation in response to a foreign attack"

And I thought to myself, I bet there's no way the Russians got to cop a look at that lot.

Trumps absolutely coining it,$40m licensing fee from Amazon for the great honor of producing a documentary on Melania, all the big companies are falling over themselves to throw money at him and settle any legal cases.

Meta  $25m

Disney $15m

not to forget the $100m made on the fees to trade Trumps memecoin.

‘Ruined this place’

Chorus of boos against JD Vance at Washington concert. This follows on from Trump sacking the chair of the Kennedy Centre in Washington and installing himself as the new chair.

"In February The Kennedy Center announced the cancellation of a Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington DC concert scheduled to coincide with May’s Pride celebrations."

Jesus, things are moving fast, aren't they. Anyone who thought their anti-Trans position would never move on to being anti-Gay are being proved wrong very quickly. All very Putinesque.

If anyone had convinced themselves they'd stop at anti-trans then they are a moron.

The fact that much of this will be driven and delivered by a 'man' like JD Vance, who wears more eyeliner than Julian Clary is particularly ironic.

And, according to the MAGA types, the aforementioned Jesus would be very proud. Tolerance, forgiveness, live and let live. So long as you're a white male heterosexual, obviously.

Hypocrisy - the stock in trade of the moral majority. 🙄

With the US stock market down 10% in a month and a recession/depression on the way due to Trumps economic illiteracy and Elons craziness, surely even the hardest of thinking MAGA bellend must realise by now where the orange shitgibbon is taking their supposedly beloved country

I know it's not so important compared to his interference in Ukraine and sacking of US civil servants etc. but my stocks and shares ISA is down about 7% in the last couple of weeks. I'm assuming this is largely due to the actions of the tangerine tossbag.

@tthew which is why Rachel Reeves' listening to City (W) Bankers and trying to get people to invest in Stocks and Shares ISAs will be a disaster for people our age . 70 this year I'd rather plod on with a guaranteed modest fixed return I don't have the time to wait for the market to turn round .

@tthew You are not alone. I've not looked closely at each of various accounts in detail, but the general trend is obvious. And the primary cause equally so. He is indeed a tosser.

The market is still a fair bit  higher than it was 12 months ago, it was artificially high and frankly still is, most people haven't really lost out much on long term investment, just lost a bit of unrealised gains.

This is the problem with making market gains instead of wage growth a priority, wage growth will see 99% of people better off much more than asset growth. Getting most people interested in markets and assets is a political card trick that massively favours the few.

Speaking as someone who's retiring in 2 weeks, I'm well aware of that too. And there's FA I can really do about it, apart from delaying taking annuity in the hope things will recover fairly soon. Anyway, we're in danger of drifting off topic a bit (I realise I'm partly responsible for the drift)

I get the gist of MSPs nationwide stance,  but on a selfish pernsonal level, my stocks and shares (Aviva) flattened on the approach to the administration change, rose slightly when he was sworn in and has been heading south ever since.

Thanks you tangerine tadger.

I wouldn't count on it. Appealing to the worst prejudices of halfwits has been a stunningly effective political strategy for the last decade in the West.

Though oblivious like all supporters of this type of party(Reform) that dear leader doesn't give a hoot about them really.

All fair points MSP, I'm not actually in negative performance yet, it's just disappointing to see the diminution in value.

And it's still better than my Putin affected company share save scheme. I work for a large German utility company, -90% in the last 3 years. 😭 Though as before, my woes are insignificant compared to the Ukranians. Slava Ukraine. 🇺🇦

This randomly appeared on my youtube feed, the channel subject matter is not something I would normally seek out.  However, it's a very powerful take on current events from an ordinary Canadian fella, musing in his shed.  It leaves you in no doubt as to the depth of feeling about the destroyed relationship between the US and Canada due to the betrayal of the former.  I know a lot of us feel that too, but Canada's geography makes it far worse for them.

I think the point there is that stock prices are a signal about confidence in the future of the economy. When a guy is elected on the basis of being a business genius but the stock market tanks within a couple of months, that's a very bad sign.

And who would elect Trump on that basis. That's right, idiots.

The guy has gone bust how many times? His main trick has either been mob tactics or franchising away any risk on to others. If that is genius, then I'm a dutchman.

Nothing about Trump becoming POTUS reflects well on the US.
