Only caught the radio reports so far. Holy ****!
It's exposed Trump and Vance as the ignorant pricks they are. 5Live had a Trump apologist on spouting the same old dictatorship bollocks and you could hear the presenters struggling not to stay professional.
Trump doesn't understand that Ukraine is fighting for its people and land. America as a country has never been invaded and doesn't seem to grasp what that means. Maybe the question to throw back at Trump is "How much of Alaska and it's US citizens would you give up to achieve peace if Putin invaded?"
Next time America claims to be leader of the free world they need to be told to **** off. They aren't, Trump isn't even pretending to be. That state visit needs cancelling. Let's give Zelensky that spot instead.
Zelensky must be wondering who is the more threatening enemy - Trump or Putin...
Well that's Ukraine ****ed.
Being "friends" with the US will squeeze more from us than Russia can take with force, we will suffer far far more if we don't break the link, Europe needs to realise who our enemies really are.
Just when I thought he could sink no lower ……..disgraceful behaviour from the Orange buffoon and his asscrack cleaner …..
C4 reporting things slightly differently, suggesting he was lured into a trap.
Who lured who into what?
Just when I thought he could sink no lower ……
Odds on him fabricating a reason to detain Zelensky before he leaves the US? Wouldn't put it past him right now..
And it turns out that Charles de Gaulle was right all along!
That's why he was voted out because he opposed the hegemon (and the invisible power).
Poor Zelenskyy, being harangued, shouted down and talked over, unable to get barely a word in, and being accused of being ungrateful and saying thank you by two pathetic bullies.
Zelensky is put in his place in front of world media. If Zelensky thinks that he could play Trump like a fiddle, he played the wrong tune 😆 That talked down to Zelensky will only enhance Trump image.
In the meantime, The "King" of the Kings has now shown his power and even the British monarchy has to bow and to roll out red carpet to welcome The new "King".
Zelensky trying to play the "strongman" image with Trump!? 🤣 He would be throw around like a rag doll by Trump in WWE.
Alastair Campbell not pulling any punches!
Alastair Campbell not pulling any punches!
He would be nobody if he was to confront Trump, and would be put in his place instantly.
He can talk now but if he was to negotiate with Trump, he would probably be licking Trump's shoes.
One by one all the Western leaders are queuing up to be put in their place. 😆
Also, Trump: "... beautiful accent ... " referring to Starmer 😆 i.e. seeing Starmer playing the feminine role, while Trump in the masculine role.
What a nasty little shit you are.
Double post
Zelensky is put in his place in front of world media.
That’s one view. Another is that Trump surrendered to Putin in front of the world media.
In the meantime, The "King" of the Kings has now shown his power and even the British monarchy has to bow and to roll out red carpet to welcome The new "King".
Why are you pretending that inviting over a new president isn’t the absolutely normal thing that happens?
Zelensky meets with European leaders tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how they show a united front after the meeting. I have no doubt they will, but after their attempts to prepare the USA administration for him this week have failed so miserably will a new tone be set?
That’s one view. Another is that Trump surrendered to Putin in front of the world media.
I think Trump's priority is not in Ukraine but the opportunity of real estate development in a trouble country in middle east. Hence, he is not interested in Ukraine and continue to demand repayment.
The one that is playing Trump like a fiddle is that bloke in middle east who offers real estate development.

The emphasis by Starmer as being highly unusual and a very special invitation, and he repeated several times.
Need a block button on this new forum
”He can come back when he’s ready for peace”
"They make a desert and call it peace." Tacitus
Putin has proved far more capable at political/social warfare than the normal form. Although sadly the former is likely to bail out the latter.
Trump knows he is the alpha male.
Together with US military power, economy power, and authority granted to Trump, you get the super alpha male.
The conversation can only go one way, and that's Trump's way.
Trump is using Zelensky as an example for the world (Western leaders or whoever he feels he needs to) to see and to not oppose him.
oh god the brown noise generating machine is back.
From the clips I've just watched, Vance was the agitator. It's clear that Trumps deal amounts to the supervised surrender of Ukraine.
Hard to know how else Z was supposed to react when being given Russian propaganda talking points.
Challenging times ahead with adjusting to Trump's way of dealings.
Confront him directly or ignore him is the only way forward.
Why are you pretending that inviting over a new president isn’t the absolutely normal thing that happens?
Because its not. There is a difference between a visit and a "state" visit.
The one good thing about that **** coming over for a state visit is the inevitable orchestrated ‘Janey Godley’ campaign I’ll get involved in. Cops might move on the odd sign but if everyone turns up with one…
European leaders response is going to be critical. Will they isolate Trump and the US? What will Kellog say and do?
Utterly hateful display from Trump & Valance, Zelensky trying to make a point only to get talked down time after time. America, you should be ashamed to let this lunatic back into office.
I think now is a good time to reflect that the 'alpha male' currently strutting around and treating the president of Ukraine like dirt is, in fact, a draft dodging coward himself.

Bang on. This bit from the (and it's hard to type this) President of the United States brought that exact point to mind:
""You want me to be tough, I can be tougher than any human being you've ever seen... but you're never going to get a deal that way," he says."
Off you go to the frontline then, Donny.
That’s one view. Another is that Trump surrendered to Putin in front of the world media.
That's a strange suggestion. Obviously Putin benefits from Zelensky's public humiliation, politically if nothing else, but I can't see how this represents Trump "surrendering" to him. I would be genuinely interested in the thinking behind that suggestion.
Honestly, **** Trump. Zelensky should leave. If the US is not going to support Ukraine he has zero to lose.
He has a lot to lose, a whole country in fact. I have no doubt that shocking as it clearly was what the world actually witnessed was Trump putting the tactics in his "art of the deal" into practice.
Zelensky will now undoubtedly make massive concessions and dance to Trump's tune. Trump's tactics rely on frightening the shit out of people/countries he wants a "deal" from.
Huge trade tariffs, ethnically cleansing Gaza, etc, are all designed to frighten people into making massive concessions which even if they are half of his original preposterous demand he will, with some justification, see as a massive "win".
Perhaps time to pull the plug at Fylingdales, and make the '5 eyes' available to '4 eyes'.
"art of the deal"
Here is your occasional reminder that the book of that name wasn’t written by Trump, and is a fictional fabrication.

Because virtually everything that comes out of his mouth in relation to Ukraine, is a Russian talking point. It literally could have been scripted by Putin, and probably was. Trump has sided with Putin, 100%.
Trump knows he is the alpha male.
You know that "alpha male" when applied to humans is generally not a compliment? Tends to be used to describe bullying dominating misogynistic men.
Trump would very much like to believe that he is his version of an alpha male, the strong powerful man in charge. Unfortunately for him, he's the other sort; a crass bully.
The one good thing about that **** coming over for a state visit is the inevitable orchestrated ‘Janey Godley’ campaign I’ll get involved in. Cops might move on the odd sign but if everyone turns up with one…
If he comes up to Scotland for a round of golf there's a lot of grassy knolls to hide behind for that clear shot

As was his persona in the apprentice.
Its like hiring a walt doesnt end well for anyone unless you sack them during the probation period.
How long before trumps handler "Elon Musk" turns off the use of Starlink by the Ukrainian army?
Here is your occasional reminder that the book of that name wasn’t written by Trump, and is a fictional fabrication.
Yeah but who wrote it isn't relevant, I would really struggle to believe that Trump could write a book on any subject, the point is that he sees himself, and wants to be seen, as someone who can broker incredible, beautiful, wonderful, deals.
It was the same during his first presidential term, he was constantly talking about "deals". And to be fair whether or not he wrote the book the tactic does get him results, it was certainly widely seen as effective in relation to Gaza. When he kept repeating to Zelensky "you have no cards" it was his applying the art of the deal strategy, whoever wrote.

Yeah but that is just evidence that Trump has sided with Putin and apparently agrees with him on a lot of issues. I asked if there was any evidence that Trump has "surrendered" to Putin. Surrender suggests an unwillingness. As far as I can see Putin has nothing on Trump and he is by far the weaker of the two.

It’s almost like English isn’t your first language?

Played is probably a better word.
I asked if there was any evidence that Trump has "surrendered" to Putin. Surrender suggests an unwillingness.
Pukka evidence of treason by a US president is a high bar to ask, especially on a mountain bike forum. I won't be at all surprised if some surfaces in the future.
As far as I can see Putin has nothing on Trump and he is by far the weaker of the two.
As far as I can see, Putin MUST have something on Trump. No I can't prove it. No I don't have evidence.
interesting article here about body language and trump being subservient to Putin
no mistaking who the alpha male here is, makes you wonder what exactly Putin has on trump?

An interesting opinion piece on today's White House events by a Ukrainian writer :
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/feb/28/ukraine-us-minerals-deal
Note :
Both Trump and Vance verbally pummelled him for the cameras, for this is the art of the deal now: loaded, hectoring, callous, bloodless.
Trump has had his way. He has transformed Ukraine from a subject into an object, and after this White House humiliation some Ukrainians are convinced that the extraction of rare earth metals on Trump’s terms would turn our country into a “colony” of the US. Still, many Ukrainians would prefer to live in a US colony than in a Russian one, if that’s the choice.
I think that is probably a fair assessment and yeah depending on how you want to measure it Trump probably did very well today.
Oh for gods sake - Elon is not handling trump.
NOBODY IS HANDLING ANYTHING HERE. EVERYONE IS JUST OUT FOR THEMSELVES.
There is no Machiavellian plan - if only as that would signify some kind of cohesive idea as to how all this is going to pan out.
No, what we have here is pure anarchy. We literally have adults with the emotional range of children in charge of everything. This is not hyperbole this is actually what somehow we have let happen. There is a hackneyed phrase, never argue with an idiot because he'll bring you down to his level then beat you with experience...well this is what is happening.
We are basically a few months away from the Caligula making his horse a consul stage. Except the stakes are just that little bit higher.
Trumps? No he will continue to grift for his own personal gain for as long as he’s president
i suspect that is really not what was meant. there is a (totally invalid IMO) suggestion that zelensky is keeping the war going to remain in power.
like tj i think starmer played as good a hand as he could have. there is a valid point that europe has relied on the US for a very long time and obama's defence secretary was saying as much 8 years ago. however if there is a chance to positively sway the man you ought to try. macron and starmer have tried. i doubt with any great effect given this afternoon's events. that was a takedown by trump and vance, agreed ahead of time. it's extortion. a shakedown.
i think there's a good chance this will lead to us developing closer ties to europe once more, over defence and security initially and later more. there's a meeting on sunday with meloni and macron i think?
