He's running rings round everbody.

Really? 1 week in and he is already knocked down in court. His key policies are going to need to get through votes and every bit of policy starts to be linked to his business dealings...
He is motivating a lot of protest and angering people around the world. The real question is when do the Republicans get sick

The next offer they get is going to be materially worse.

So they won't accept it presumably?

Trump said he would impose restrictions "until we figure out what is going on"

The man really is as thick as two short planks.

So it's unlkely he'll have it figured out in 90 days.

Anyway this demonstrates all these executive orders are bluster to make it look as though he's doing stuff:
"In the latest three executive orders to be signed by Mr Trump, the president said that within 30 days he needed proposals for taking the fight to the Islamic extremists".
Why does this need an executive order? He's just saying "look at me, look at me".

I'm reading it that the only part of this order to have been suspended is the detention at airports and possible deportation - not the suspension of entry as a whole?

He's running rings round everbody.

Is he? What do you call "running rings"?

So far in just a few days he has received global condemnation from foreign leaders and politicians, even a British Tory prime minister has been forced to distance herself from him.

A US Fed. judge has put a bar on Trump's deportation order.

US-Mexican relations are at their worse in a hundred and fifty years.

And despite starting the job with the worse approval ratings of any former US president since records began he's managed in a week to see his approval ratings slump even further.....a great honeymoon period!

Gallup: Trump Net Approval Rating Drops 8 Points In First Week In Office

If this is him "running rings round everybody" I can't wait to see what will happen if he stops running rings round everybody.

He has been there a week, within that week he has managed to launch a policy that lasted about 4hrs and is tied to his bank balance, approve a pipeline for a company he invests in, whats for the encore?

Well imo, because he's successfully managed to get everyone all up in arms and cause all the noise. At the moment he's just pretending to fulfil his "campaign promises". He's creating (in collusion with the hysterical left picking up on every trivial little thing) that much noise that by the time he starts trying to implement his real polices in 6 months/1 year/2 years time, I get the impression everyone will be fatigued by then, or at least so normalised to scandal that they'll not even notice.

The interesting thing is when normal folk realise that they have been sold snake oil...

Should be the Scots first, then the Americans and finally us poor UK citizens as Brexshit will stretch out longest

"trivial little thing"?

What would you judge as a non trivial thing then? Perhaps an A-bomb attack on Mexico??

Holding hands with May, arguing over crowd numbers. People protesting en-masse before he's even done anything... are all trivial.

Non trival is the muslim ban and the dakota pipeline. Please do get angry about those.

Mexico, well considering he wants to rip up nafta anyhow and redo it, that's just a negotiating tactic, well need to wait and see on that one.

Yeah, he's 'making America great again'.........he's just playing a very long game. Alienating the whole world and much of his own citizens is obviously part of his grand plan.

If you believe that then you are as gullible as his most ardent supporters.

I just don't believe he's publicised the real policies, you know the ones he actually wants to see implemented.

Without telling me to do my own research can you give me some sort of hint concerning what these real unpublicised policies might be?

Almost.

It appears they can still be detained, just not deported while the case is resolved.

While the judge’s ruling means that none of the detainees will be sent back immediately, lawyers for the plaintiffs in the case expressed concern that all those at the airports would now be put in detention, pending a resolution of the case.

I was just thinking the same thing. I can't believe no one around Trump knew the supreme court would block the ban. I can't help but feel it's a diversionary tactic for something [possibly] worse.

That's not running rings round people. I can achieve the same by walking into work an hour late tomorrow. Call them all a bunch of ****s, defecate in reception and leave with my soiled trousers round my ankles.

As for his policies, my guess is he is just starting to realise just how much he will have to work with others. What th at does yo his policies remain to be seen.

I get the impression everyone will be fatigued by then

I reckon they won't tbh. Joe Public maybe, but politicians etc no.

It wasn't the supreme court.

I can't believe that no one around Trump knew that the US government can't simply build a wall on private land without some very serious legal implications which need to be sorted out, but that didn't stop Trump from issuing an executive order.

But you do know for sure that he hasn't "publicised the real policies, you know the ones he actually wants to see implemented"?

How can you be so sure if you've got no idea what they might be?

Because of his personality disorder he is incapable of understanding that he cannot just do what he wants and believes that anything he wants is right and there can be no opposition to him. His world view and reality are crashing into each other really hard. My guess the outcome will be a complete breakdown from him at some point or he will walk away as being defeated is impossible to him.

Really? 1 week in and he is already knocked down in court.

Unless that's all part of the plan.

It's all text book stuff isn't it? Put forward something outrageous, everyone shits the bed, then proffer something less drastic which is what you were happy to have all along. This time with no opposition, as it's 'better' than the alternative.

I [Theresa] may be giving him too much credit. But it just seems so moustache twirlingly heinous to actually believe this is really happening.

Because of his personality disorder he is incapable of understanding that he cannot just do what he wants and believes that anything he wants is right and there can be no opposition to him.

And because of your personality disorder you are incapable of seeing that he is doing exactly what the electorate elected him to do

Democracy, eh?

Well if I was claiming that Trump has a hidden agenda I would at least try to come up with a suggestion as to what it might be. It would help to make the claim more convincing.

Personally I don't think he's got a hidden agenda beyond being worshipped by his adoring fans. But that's partly because imo he didn't expect or even want to be US President.

IMO the ideal result for Trump would have been to lose to Clinton and to claim that it had been rigged. Like that his uncontrollable ego would have received the biggest boost in his life without any risk of his popularity being diminished as the result of actually doing the job.

He's now got to do an extremely time-consuming job which will be littered with potential disasters, and falling popularity.

Probably about the same as when Obama was US president, ie, "not a lot"

Getting Bannon on the NSC is quite a statement. I'm not sure to what extent trump is actually a Leader or the one being manipulated.

Zaphod Beeblebrox springs to mind.

Can't wait till he comes to meet the queen

It'll nicely tarnish the Windsors as well as our PM as she fawns over him

And there may be the odd protestor too!

Posted 2 hours ago

And now 2 hours later you want us to sign a petition stopping him from making a State Visit "because it would cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen"?

Make your mind up FFS! 🙂

Just wait till Trumpcare replaces the ACA and people start losing healthcare

His approval ratings will go through the floor, that first impeachment vote going to be tough for the Republicans

KImbers - I doubt that as the US is so ****ed up on healthcare that people without any healthcare and who would benefit from ACA detest it. No one who supported trump is going to care about this
