MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Off there early next week with our Vizsla and have a couple of q's;
1) We've got an IGN map of the local area but do these show 'footpaths' (as we would know them in the UK) that we can use. I'm strugglign to translate the Legend beyond seeing GR type routes which seem to be off road motorways rather than more local rights of way.
2) How can we see in advance if a forest area accepts dogs off the lead?
We realise we'll be restricted in towns and parks to keeping him on the lead but an off lead walk once a day would be a good thing, I think.
We're staying near St Omer, initially - so not far from Calais.
So if this is the IGN map of the area what's allowed where?

That doesn't look like an IGN map as I know it, which is more like an OS map. On IGN maps footpaths are usually shown as pink lines think.
Ah, I picked the image up from here:

and it looks pretty similar to the 1:25000 ign map I bought of the same area.
Have I got the wrong map then?
actually, my mistake hadn'tzoomed in;
