Took the dogs to the vets today for their boosters.

The vet gives them these liver dog treats after the jabs.

They seem to like them so I thought I would buy a pack from the counter as I was paying the already large bill.

"The treats are £5 a pack sir." I checked the pack - 50g in weight - £100 per kilo! WTF??????? No thanks you!

Checked on line and they are even more expensive £120 per kilo!

Make your own, boil some liver, cut into chunks, bake in the oven. My dog loves them, but only give a few a day or you will be needing a pooper scoop!

Yep as Bagstard suggested. Boil, cut into small chunks, coat in garlic and bake until quite crispy. We used to use these for training our dog and she loved them.

It does stink your house out a bit when you cook them though 😯

Stan loves a pig ear - about 50p from the local food supplier and will keep him occupied for a good 4 or 5 hours! His weekly, post-stomp Sunday treat...

Pigs ears last less than 3 minutes in our house, treat ball with peas carrot and the odd dog treat in. Brian loves them. Ice cubes are another favourite of his.

Liver cake, cheap as chips and its like crack for dogs.

18oz pigs liver
12oz wholemeal sr flour
3 eggs

Put flour in a mixing bowl
Liquidise liver and add to flour
add eggs
mix
add a bit of water to make thick cake type mix
bake in a roasting tin lined with baking parchment.
Bake for about 25 mins on 190c
Cool and cut into blocks and bung in the freezer in plasi bags.
Remove and cut into chunks.
Best dog treat known to dogs

My dog's treat is not to get slapped round the head.

(Only kidding, "Treats" play havoc with her guts and she fills the room with obnoxious foulness like you can't imagine)

Makes a change from mud, roots, twigs and stones I suppose... 😉

Plus 1 for the treat ball though - one of those with broken-up Gravy Bones and/or torn-up Schmackos inside can keep ADD (Attention-Deficit Dal) occupied, and apparently happy, for a whole 10 minutes sometimes. 🙂

You can cook the liver cake (the one mixed with flour) for 8 mins in the microwave too. Makes the house stink though, but comes out fine.

Might make Elmo some tomorrow as he's scared of the banging bird scare-ers that keep going off at the mo.
