Nice sunny morning but I have a great pile of work to do.

I plough through it at record speed, look out the window and it has gone grey and is spitting with rain.

I have been stuck abroad all week working 12-14 hour days when it has been really sunny outside. The one day we left the office at about 6pm it started to rain.

Do other people suffer like this or do the rain gods hate me.

It's payback for all the plugs about some event or other last year. 😆

Same here. And to compound it, there's a burst 42" water main in the area, meaning I have no heating, drinking water or the ability to flush the toilet.

Water water everywhere, but not a drop to drink/use...

Only rains/snows on Saturdays and Sundays here recently, and Tuesday-Thursday are the sunniest days. Been sunny all week... now it looks like Autumn arrived at lunchtime 🙄

Bikingcatastrophe - You thought last year was bad, wait until you see my plans for this year... website is open BTW ... but I am not promoting it heavily on the forum yet. Checking the possibilities of something more official so I don't p-off the mods quite so much.

I used to wonder whether there was some proper meteorological phenomenon that explained why it always rained on the ride to work, then was sunny all day only to rain again on the way back from work too; something about temperature changes between night and day perhaps...?

I don't know. I just nipped to the bottle bank in bright sunshine but by the time I was back near my bike it was overcast and threatening again.

Theoretically speaking (i.e. bollocks) during a work day there is more localised air pollution (vehicle exhausts, factory output etc) and a greater amount of heat generated. This causes a warm rising thermal which keeps the clouds away.

At weekends and bank holidays the pollution and heat dissipates allowing clouds to form and rain to condense.

So yes.

😕

What do you call a day of blistering sunshine with dry dusty trails that follows 2 days of wet misery?

Monday!
