Lots of allergies in the family so started looking at these. Does anyone use them/can recommend?
seen some mention about ionizers creating ozone and that's not good either? most seem to be ionizers

Yes, have one as a present to help with my son's hayfever. It's a philps something. I don't think it ionizes, just sucks air in, traps all the pollen then sends clean stuff out.
Does it work? Yes. The main benefit is that it stopped my son's irritated eyes first thing in the morning, so he had a chance to get the meds working before any kind of reaction. I reckon it's performance is doubtful during the day when there is lots of door and window action though.
