We will be in touch
Can you swing them to and fro,
Can you tie them in a knot,
Can you tie them in a bow?
That's the version that I know, but what are the proper words for that nursery rhyme?
My 20-month-old nephew has a Happy Feet dancing mat that plays the instrumental version, and he seems to know some 'actions' that he's obviously learned at nursery, but his oratory skills aren't quite up to reciting the correct lyrics.
The actions seem to be tying a bow of some sort, but surely not in his balls!
Any help greatly appreciated.

ears, i think
do your ears hang low?
do they wobble to and fro?
can you tie them in a knot?
can you tie them in a bow?
can you roll them over your shoulder like a regimental soldier?
do your ears hang low?
there is also a really lame version with hair instead of ears in the hippy commune in 'Easy Rider'.
Do your balls hang low
Can you swing them to and fro
Can you tie them in a knot
Can you tie them in a bow
Do you get a funny feeling
When your bollocks hit the ceiling
Cos you'll never make a sailor if your balls hang low
at my school.
You lot are odd.
I'm with the Ape on this one.
Thanks for that, looks like I'll have to explain to the boy that those aren't ears.
I must have gone to the same school as The Ape, that's the version I know and love.
Ta!

eee by gum
does your belly touch your bum
do your tits hang low
can you tie em in a bow
I grew up with Brainflex's version, but could never remeber the other bit that came after 'tie em in a bow'
Surely time for a brief interlude from Mr Wilson?
[i]'Do you f*ck on first dates?
Does your dad own a brewery?
Could I feel your tits?
Or would you show 'em to me?
Do you sleep in the nick?
Do you give head very often?
If we can decide, your place or mine
We can f*ck off then'

My wife likes this version:
do your tits hang low?
do they wobble to and fro?
can you tie them in a knot?
can you tie them in a bow?
can you roll them over your shoulder like a regimental soldier?
do your tits hang low?
Often heard in her school playground 20 years ago!
In my school it was "throw" them over your shoulder rather than "roll" them over your shoulder, and it was always balls, never boobs, ears or hair. Hair??!! WTF?
I seem to remember some hipperty hopperty rapping singer sampling the tune in one of his records quite recently. I think he used 'chains' rather than ears/balls/tits/hair etc.

Interlude? I'm sure i could manage a whole Live Aid's worth.
My own tiny children and a secret childcare/playschool past means there's a whole jukebox full of kids songs up here. (taps head in slightly overbearing sunday school teacher stylee)
CFH, your song is purest filth. Who did you play rugby for?
The "hair" version is sung on Easy Rider.... Until I saw that film, I'd only heard the playground "balls" version too...
