IIRC someone got a lifetime ban after a Twitter conversation, so there can be some off-forum discussion going on.

Yeah, I forgot about Twitter. I remember there were some (Phil)consequences as a result of something that went down. I have no idea of who said what about what...

Edit : Actually, I think it was Southern Yeti and not Phil but I'll leave my attempt at humour.

I also think it was TSY, so your dossier doesn't need updating.

Edukator now has an actual picture of Junkyard in his dossier.

🙂

Despite previous run-ins with him I think Edukator's a cool cat, though possibly slightly autistic with the memory thing. Much like a few others on this thread, myself included.

But I'm definitely making a print of that JY pic to go above the bed to help out when all else is failing.

😯 Just think about football.

I'm sticking a copy on the fireplace to keep the kids away from the fire and another on the fridge as I could be doing with losing a stone or two. 😉

It's hardly a surprise that he looks miserable. That vegetarian diet of his will ensure a long and healthy life - but WITHOUT BACON!!!!

TSY linked to one of Solo's threads via Twitter. Some social commentary, nothing too bad IIRC.

To be fair, he and I 'know' each other from a long time ago on a different forum in a galaxy far, far away...

..and reading this, I'm beginning to think I've gone back in time to that same galaxy. I'm not sure that's a Good Thing...

Are you referring to my bitching or the over-analysing of the forum. Or just the participation of J and myself...?

🙂

In my defence, I enter the forum via the sidedoor, so no stickies.

Yes of course. Some people here live in a fantasy land where they have no idea how to try and put themselves in other peoples shoes and as a result talk absolute shit most of the time. (They would make great politicians)

I ignore these posters when they talk about certain subjects and still find it amusing that people on here actually bother to engage them in conversation.

Other than that I find some posters have a great sense of humour or knowledge about certain subjects, so will spend the time reading their posts rather than ignoring them.

STW is like a microcosm of certain parts of society.

Wow....that took a lot of catching up on! 🙂

Some great comments there and interesting to see a few others having spats with Junky....and not a single mention of Straw Men! 😯

That pic though.....truly terrifying! Like something out of Harry Potter!

I'm just waiting for Junkyard to stumble in here. I've got biscuits and a Thermos ready 😀

TIA.

In my experience modding has been a little uneven and the rule about not questioning mods is a little authoritarian. Generally, I get pulled into arguments which affront some principles, but less so now that I have been here long enough to see that many folks here hold views which I find ridiculous in this day and age. Teasel, you mentioned that I come across as nasty and I think it might be that sometimes I am unforgiving when confronting some of the views in here. It is never intentional and never personal ( no doubt, there may be evidence to the contrary) the forum does seem to have a bit more of a right bias than I remember, but that may be because there are fewer rabid lefties in here now. It does seem that misogynistic and 'racist' micro aggressions are often allowed whereas reactions to these are often less tolerated.
My recent deletion for inappropriateness was for asking someone if they were dealing with some issues. Never really clear what that was about.

Unofficially, I've always welcomed feedback so I can ensure I'm doing a reasonable / fair job. If I've made a bad call I'd want to know.

You are an argumentative shitehawk though. (-:

I am but only when it matters.

Unofficially, bit poor that I was pulled for inappropriateness bit never clarified. In fairness, apart from a few scuffles, Cougar has been quite reasonable, it's all the others! I think also some folks arrive iny consciousness due to some view which I find unpleasant, then it shapes my impression of them.

Junky is a little sweetie in real life.

Try and imagine a funeral director on his first acid trip and you won't be far off.
