I've spent far too much time the past couple of weeks on here. Mainly because I'm trying to revise for exams.
However, it's always the same people every few minutes who are posting in every topic.
My question is, do you lot actually have jobs and if so what?
This is a semi serious question as I am intrigued to what jobs allow for so much free surfing in front of a computer without getting caught!
This could be a possible career path for me if you get paid a hell of a lot...

Thanks

job, yes
at work, no

have battered my back and sat at home on the 'sick' because the boss knows that if I was left to light duties at work it would only be a couple hours until I did somethig I shouldn't which wouldn't help it - I am at my most fidgety when I can't work or ride my bike

I am a forester btw.

Yes I'm bejobbed 🙂

Allowed to use interweb for personal when use when "on call" ie sitting around doing nothing but having to be ready in case "something bad happens"
but not allowed when actually working - I also can't believe the amount of bandwidth & time theft that some people on here can get away with.....

Yep teacher and a combination of exam leave and "fun lessons" in the lead into the hols (2 weeks and 1 day). Mean that i am effectively baby-sitting whilst watching the kids set fire to themselves.

Did have a job - Quality Manager. Made redundant when the Co. went bust! Ironically I spend less time on here as I did at work, but only started posting after getting made redundant (didn't want to leave ( any more of) an audit trail)!!!

Wouldn't have been a problem anyway. Had my own (quite plush compared to my home office) office and was left to my own devices as long as I got my job done. I was directly answerable to the MD who I got on very well with and he was on't interweb constantly n'all. In fact he would e-mail up to my office telling me of interesting sites.

Its no wonder the Co went under!!

Now my job is to find another job... and occasionally post on here to break the monotony! Much like you and your revision!!

Good luck with your exams BTW 😀

Haha thanks for all your responses!

It's fairly varied then... I guess there are a couple more IT jobs than most though, so that kind of answers why you spend most of the day on here.

Timber - get well soon... (unless you'd rather spend all day on STW)

Forlorn Hope - Really? I won't be going abroad anytime soon then!

IT - most of what I do takes a while (testing etc) so I just flit between windows while stuff is running. And usually hang around here far too long.

I used to be the person who provided the reports on Internet usage for
the company, so they couldn't get me then! Now, my mate does it.
Thinking about it, I've been indirectly responsible for about 6 people being sacked 🙁 I also had to report the top bod for using Escort service websites (he didn't get sacked).
A Spanish bloke for visiting shoe fetish websites. And a sales guy (married to a Chinese woman) for visiting Asian porn sites.

Yup, got a job - sit offshore surfing for 2 weeks, then go home and do whatever I want for 3 weeks, repeat.

Money's not bad either.

Job, yes (scientist)
not exactly company policy to be on here, but I regard it as my equivalent of a cigarette break when I can't face ripping to pieces yet another crappy contractor's GIS report.

My dad's the boss, but he's retired, so me & 2 other guys are now the bosses. Soon they'll be retired though, then the shizzle will really hit the fan.
