I appreciate this probly isn't a competition, but I once put contact lenses in with alum on my fingers - the stuff used to coagulate shaving cuts.

Surprised I didn't go blind.

A lesson learned from school: Deep Heat is in NO WAY a method for keeping balls warm during sports.

If you've been cutting back Euphorbia then wash your hands at least 3 times. Twice is not enough and once is right out!

Another tip is not to put on contact lenses after using Tiger balm.

@avdave2 I came in to post exactly the same thing. I woke up in agony one night last summer after a Euporbia cutting session. I'd obviously missed a bit on the back of my hand. Pretty scary when you can't open your eye for a couple of hours.

My mate struggled to open a sachet of bombay bad boy...

He used his teeth and got a direct hit in his eye....

Looked like he'd been teargassed. He had his eye under a damp cloth for hours.

Ohhhh how we all laughed

Similarly, don't store identical sized bottles of otex and opatanol next to each other.
Otex is urea hydrogen peroxide and dissolves ear wax. Opatanol is an eyedrop for hayfever relief.

In a hayfever induced sore eyes moment I grabbed the wrong one. That stung.

Once made a romantic chilli prawn thai curry for a new lady friend. Lots of freshly choppy chilli, went down a treat as it was delicious.

Later that evening, not so much.

LOL i do assume the intimate time…?

Either that or it gave her the trots..

Prawn + curry = heightened risk of misadventure

Saw a podcast recently where they were daring each other to put it on their intimate areas front and back to see how long they could stand it.

I once wiped my eye after chopping chillis. Never again. The swelling was enough to seal the eye completely. I'm meticulous now and haven't worn contacts for some time. I have however removed broken contacts using a paperclip...

Hint: You use the rounded end to invert the eyelid (there is cartilage in the lip) and then flush the eye with eyewash.

as we are on public servicw announcements to help our fellow forumites, avoid owie things, do not under any circumstances spilt the skin on your old fella during vigorous drunken sexytime, do not then in said drunken state think" oooo better clean that" and slap witch hazel gel in, the raw bloody mess...apparently i screamed and then passed out!

30 years later the memories still haunt me.

Physical pain is a mere insignificance to emotional pain.

Do not mistake ralgex for savlon, rub it on the saddle sores on your crack & ball sack, then sprint to the shower only to find it occupied...

I have some Carolina Reaper chillies, I cut off tiny amounts and chop to powder. I make ABSOLUTELY certain that I’ve washed my hands thoroughly before any further hand/body interface!
Back when contact lenses had a sterilisation/neutralise process, I made the mistake of taking a lens out of the container and putting it straight into my eye, having missed the neutralising step. My eye clenched up like a fist, I just couldn’t get my eye open to get the lens out and rinse my eye for about twenty minutes.
It’s not a mistake I ever made again!
Thankfully the solutions are one-step nowadays.

Do not sit on a really full up drum of waste thinners.
Your weight will force the liquid out of the lid and then rapidly to the last place you want thinners and yes I've regularly had thinners in my eyes!

Don't go for a pee after mixing a bucket of caustic.
You'll have to discretely try to neutralise it on whatever you touch.
