I was having issues with my connection, dropping in and out occassionally, which was getting irritating, so much so that I could barely even connect this morning. Keep getting a DNS error on chrome and firefox wouldn't connect either, so I've went into my router and taken it off dhcp to manual and added a third DNS (8.8.8.8 google free DNS) and this seems to have solved the connection problems.

Question is, should I just bin the other 2 default ones(I'm guessing they are maybe virgins DNS servers?) and find some better DNS? Quick google pops up openDNS and to maybe use them as well as google.

Anyone have thoughts on this? Is there any point now I seem to have solved the issue?

I've never had issues with the virgin ones.

Can you ping them when you get the look up issues?

I never thought of that tbh, pinged them there and they are fine just now.

Actually the virgin ones ping faster than google or open DNS, I think I'll just leave the virgin ones there and have google as the 3rd incase of issues. And hopefully that will do. I'm sure I'll have a better idea how it's working out over the next week.
