Clean pants is to protect you if hit by a bus my grandma said, or something like that?
Well I always wore clean pants and socks, and I've never been hit by a bus (yet) so it must work.

I was told by my Mum to put a clean pair of socks on each day by Friday I couldn't get my shoes on 😕

The socks are ok, the question is whether you were embarrassed when you put your cowboy boots back on.
My mum always said put on clean pants you could get knocked down by a car and have to go to hospital. I think if i got hit by a car my pants would be pretty soiled. 😳
