Ricky Lenin would be proud.
Great stuff.
Just one left 😥
Just a few steps more up that tree.....
B A T
last night's was good loved the hedgehog
I thought it was pretty dismal by their standards. No real Lance and Andy banter, No DMDC and just tying up ends for the finale next week.
If series 1 had all been like this there wouldn't have been a series 2.
If series 1 had all been like this there wouldn't have been a series 2.
Yup, with you on that, I still think its the best thing on telly, but it does seem to be not as good as the first and second series..
There are glimpses of what it was, it just falls short of the mark.
Having said that, the DVD has been pre-ordered.. 😆
"What's in the crate?"
Its' another thank you to STW .... Im new to this excellent show and have only seen season 3.
Just love it's slow pace, British summer time, birds tweeting, character empathy and the subtle funnies.... I find it wonderfully relaxing, I can almost feel my heart rate lower.
And it sounds as if I've got better to come by going back to 1 and 2
Im going to ration myself to 1 a week and that will hopefully see me through these dark days of winter.
along with Back it's on par with the best of the last 5 years well written and not a vehicle for B list celebs.
the staircase gag was good last night both looking to the heavens
"Steve......Can i find a safe home for this?"
"Wot's that?, A porcupine?"
"Porcupine?.....Are you serious?, it's a hedgehog"
"I thought hedgehogs were flat"
"Squashed dead ones are flat......live ones are ........spherical"
And that is why we have brexit in nutshell imho
Sorry......couldn't resist but i now feel ashamed for polluting a thread about one of the finest BBC programs ever.
Love the way it switches from subtle and slow to properly silly without skipping a beat - the scene where they decided to go under the tape was genius.
And that is why we have brexit in nutshell imho
But you're not being humble are you? You're just another sad remoaner never missing a chance to bleat...
Get over it.
Get in.....I’ve caught one.........first cast as well!, that’s another one to add to the stw premier gold account brexiter list - 3 more names outed and I move up to platinum 😉
Edit. Not going to contribute to the derailment of a thread about the best thing on telly. Apologies.
Enjoying series 3 but to me it should have ended on series 2 as it was such a natural conclusion. It turns more soap like the longer it goes on.
Last one tonight chaps.. 😐
🙁
Hope the last one is better than the previous 2, which turned into comedy cliché by numbers.
Well, that was much more like it. 🙂
Wonderful
Yeeha.
🙂
🙂
Utterly beautiful.
What a cast, fabulous storylines and a showcase for purity in spirit.
😀
Just Sublime! Loved the Pacific flag raising reference
Mrs Binners walked down the aisle to the Johnny Flynn theme tune in June (to officially become Mrs Binners) because it’s just so utterly bloody lovely. Think it’s our favourite programme ever 🙂
Just perfect.
“Fragile” on the box Lance was carrying..
Perfect.
Pacific flag raising? Did I miss a bit, the whole scene was Witness, even the music.
Good spot.
Loved it. Not as much as the perfectly formed first two series, but still wonderful all the same.
Thanks to the cast and crew for making it.
DVD will be going on pre-order.
Good spot.
+1
Can't believe its the last one. Anyone know where Mr Crook lives? I want to picket his house. Genuinely bereft!
Aye fair dues they pulled it out of the bag at the end there.
Watching it, it felt like the final episode of a Programme... I didn't know until googling it was actually the end. I'm sad, very very sad.
If someone could win euromillions on friday and keep it going, that would be great, thanks.
He lives in Suffolk.
And that yellow TR7 is his..
I have enjoyed every second of it. But I'm glad they have finished the story with enough to go back to for a special episode if they ever wanted to. It's better than the current trend to keep a series going because it's popular, not because it is still brilliant.
One of the best episodes for ages. It could have gone on for hours as far as I was concerned. The spear point at the start was brilliant!
Christmas Special on Dec 17th but I think it's just the 2015 repeat.
I've got every one of these episodes recorded but I'm sill going to buy the box set. Maybe if they sell enough, Mackenzie will be persuaded to make another series.
An ending.
No need to see any more. We can all imagine our own version of what happens next.
Here's to the endless summer that was Detectorists.
No need to see any more. We can all imagine our own version of what happens next.
Aye indeed,a very nice way to finish.
Mr Crook should do a cycle club next
🙂
Agree with Binners, my absolute favourite tv ever. I could watch it forever. Seriously considering a trip to Suffolk to visit some of the locations.
“We’re going to prison” quickly changed to “ you’re going to prison”.
Perfect ending - probably going to be the only programme that I'll buy the box set and watch again.

It's just the most adorable show. I almost got a bit emotional when they welcomed Simon and Garfunkel into the DMDC
