anyone else had their Micro SD card wiped on their Desire / Desire HD ???
Card is now unreadable and phone cannot mount / unmount the SD card ???

I have desktop mount that charges/makes it a disc drive. Phone sometimes says no card after removing the phone. Popping it back on usually clears it, but sometimes needs a reboot. I set it to charge only now, seems to work. Have you tried connecting the usb to a pc & setting as a drive only...
Mine did this when I connected it to an old windows xp machine that couldn't read the card as a disk drive. When I unplugged it it refused to mount on any phone (I tested it on a colleagues). In the end I had to plug it into a laptop, copy off the data that I wanted and then format it on the laptop, which fixed the problem.
THE MICRO SD card is simply not readable - card reader / phone usb's into PC.............?
It's probably a fault on the card.
Best bet is just to format it. There are various recovery programs out there if there's anything irreplaceable on there (but there isn't cos you back it up, of course).
I'd consider replacing the card, personally. Not worth the hassle.
Yep I had this happen after carrying out an update - completely killed the card. I'm currently using a 2G card until HTC sends me a replacement - they're out of stock at the moment.
If ever you do any upgrade take the card out first. Not good!
Great phone - I still love it but I would get in contact with HTC about this as it's a known (but not admitted) by HTC.
