Hi,
I've been trawling the internet looking for ideas of how best to convert a SWB Vivaro van i'm buying. Lots of information but very few photos of what people have done to their vans. I was hoping to have room to carry 2 bikes and all my kit. Maybe a cooker and fridge and some where to sit, if you have this type of set up please could you post pics please..Thanks

Dunno if it helps, but when I started "doing" my van I decided against the cooker/fridge idea as I wanted maximum space for bikes and enough room for a camp bed.

Thanks,
I thought there would have been a little more interest judging by the amount of vans I see out and about.
I don't think we'l need to sleep in it we'l use a tent I just sold my campervan so don't want it to be another camper. The wife is insisting on a cooker and fridge for when we go camping.I was thinking of putting bikes across the back of the van with the front wheels off,but I'm open to suggestions.

Have you looked at Amdro? They mainly do kits for VW conversions, but I'm sure he was looking at doing something for a Vivaro. In any case, you could use their cooker and fridge/sink units anyway I would have thought. Iwan's a nice guy, if you gave him a bell Im sure he'd have some ideas.

I've got the T5 kit, it's for a camper but you still get a fixed boot space that's big enough for a bike. No pics though, sorry

Carpet lining bought online, Chequer-plate looky likey vinyl flooring from B and Q. Loads of storage under the bench seat and room on top for an inflatable mattress. LED strips originally intended for bathroom units. Strapping points now added to secure bikes.

Hi Mostly Balanced, a nice set up did you manage the carpeting yourself and was it difficult?

The carpetting was a bit of a messy job with loads of aerosol carpet glue. A second pair of hands would have been welcome for the large non-door-side panel which I did without removing from the van. The hardest part was getting the (supposedly stretchy) carpet to follow the contours of the rear pillars before the glue dried.

I did the inside of my Caddy, they'll do you a kit with everything you need think mine cost me £175? for carpet glue, glue cleaner and a heavy duty vinyl floor the carpet they use is stetchy and really easy to fit...

Ditto. And getting it around the rear wheel arches. Afterwards I wondered whether heating it with a hairdryer might have mad it more pliable.

If I did another conversion, I'd consider getting someone else to do the lining for me.

I found that using loads of glue to make the carpet damp helped, but was messy.

Megavanmats mega stretch carpet is pretty stretchy, managed pretty well with that unfortunately no pics online at the moment. Doesn't look as fluffy as the silver stuff above.

Their spray glue remover is also good at getting rid of any overspray.

Just redone the lining and door cards on my VW T3 and really pleased with the results.

That actually is Megavanmats carpetting. Wished I'd bought some of their glue remover as well at the time.

Is it the standard or the mega stretch? Maybe it's just the light/photo that makes it look fluffy.

Anyway the remover spray will work a while after it's done, I did my front seat boxes before christams and the door cards finished a couple of weeks ago and the overspray I'd just noticed at the front came off fine.

Using a steam cleaner (or even holding sections over a kettle) is the best way...

Posted pics before but here's mine. VW T4 with Styline interior. Seats are on Mushroom bolts and can be removed individually. Altro flooring and interior all wipe down, great for all sorts of outdoor stuff.

I use one of these to transport bikes.

Could do with some method of fixing it down but it needs to move back and forth for road and MTBs. Not a problem though when other stuff is packed around it.

5 of us going to Flanders at the end of March in it with 5 bikes and luggage and all fits easily.
