as a motorist do you not realise the cyclist is not going to bunny hop the car,
the cyclist has to give room for a door to be opened,
and the overtaking car should give 3 foot space to the cyclist,
as well as realising through experience or having a crash that a bus coming the other way will seriously reduce the road space, and that buses are big and full of lots of witnesses.
Because there are some thick and stupid drivers out there tonight.
Did the cyclist look behind, make sure it was safe, signal and then make the manoeuvre?
Me the cyclist was passing a row of parked cars with spaces, i have no idea if the motorists concerned checked their mirrors for a motorcyclist or fellow nutter overtaking them before making the manouvre.
Uh...what actually happened?
What car was the cyclist expected to bunny hop - the one that had just overtaken him?
Row of parked cars, spaced along a road, me passing the first few cars, car behind decides i should not be there, so overtakes me almost hitting oncoming bus.
Newsflash. Its not just tonight the thick and stupid drivers are out.
Meh - I'm still confused about the bunny.
So did the driver give you enough room?
the bunny was crushed under the bus
I didn't give enough room for a car door to open once, many many years ago.
The car door opened,
I hit it, hard.
I fell into the road in front of a bus. Thankfully it stopped.
I gave the woman a volley of abuse, sorted my Raleigh Scorpio with cow horn handlebars out and saw the woman try to close her door. It wouldn't close.
How I laughed.
Probably not as much as people probably laughed at me with a Raleigh Scorpio with cow horn handlebars on but I think they saved my neck that day.
