[Closed] Dale farm eviction - looks like it will be long and drawn out

Some 'professional activists' have made some pretty substantial barricades making it pretty impossible to even get in to hand out the details on the eviction. Sky news said they may well have to go to plan B.

So what's plan B? I'm thinking possibly a NATO airstrike?

IMO they should probably leave them put, and hit them with a substantial fee for staying there - they should have taken action long ago.

I had to laugh at the 'activist' who had his arm concreted into a large block. The reporter asked what he would do if nothing happened today or the next few days. the muppet clearly hadn't though of that, laying there with his arm in a big lump of concrete!!!!

Yeah they did cross my mind earlier. I had visions of the site being neatly cleared away apart from a few bemused people attached to lonely concrete blocks.

Can we then go and pelt the rent-a-mob "activists" with eggs? Please? 😈

As always, the Daily Mash is the place to go to for news:

Nah - just totally ignore them - pelting that sort of person with eggs just gives them the attention they crave.

I prefer the image of a lone man walking his dog and the dog just wandering over and cocking its leg without the owner even noticing.

+1 Lol to see it all going on with them cordoned off on their own. What if they need a crap as well 😆

The daily mash is piss !

Just bulldoze them and the ones concreted in will simply have to sufffer the consequences as the massive bulldozer wheels crush their tiny minds.

Plan B?

[img] [/img]

Its the only logical solution.

Cost so far to the taxpayer so far in evicting them = £18 million
Cost of a cruise missile, according to the BBC, when we were raining them down on Libya = £1 million

Its a no brainer really

Dont'cha know the bailiff's have been digging tunnels for weeks. Any minute now they're going to rise up out of the middle of the site, serve the papers and then 60 minutes later all the illegal homes will be swallowed up into the ground. Maybe.

tsk tsk tsk

They are people too, they aren't dirty rats who steal, cause damage and destruction. They don't leave a trail of rubbish everywhere they go.

Oh hang on a minute

I'd assumed the bailiffs would just go in over the fields and through the back of the site as that's where the units they need to move are?

The local councillors admitted the cost to clear them far outweighs the cost of making the traveller's camp permanent or buying it from them for the £6m they want but they have said they don't have an alternative because any alternative rewards the travellers for illegal activity.

Can't they just get them done under the Trades Descriptions Act?

It seems like them calling themselves 'Travelers' is like me calling myself a Unicorn Trainer. There seems to be absolutely no evidence to support either claim

what about beating them at their own game..?

Why not set up a bare-knuckle boxing match between our elected man (John Baron MP..?) and their elected man..

to the victor the spoils..?

John's quite a big fella and it looks like he's got some pikey blood in him somewhere down the line..

😀

I'm just ratty this morning as not had breakfast yet and i have to write a very strong letter of complaint to Kwik Fit.

I'd have no problem with travellers if they were cleaner and obeyed the laws of the land

I assume these "activists" have taken a day off from their gainful employment to do this. Or perhaps they are students, studying at the taxpayer's expense. In which case they have of course sought approval to miss a period of their studies, which I am sure they will catch up on once they've got the use of their arms back.

Hopefully they've taken into account what prolonged exposure to drying concrete will do to their hands/arms

or maybe not 🙂

What I don't understand is why the travellers won't go live in the council property offered to them. I heard an interview on the radio that said it was because they wanted to preserve their traditional way of life. But surely living in a semi-permanent structure built on some hard standing is not a traditional lifestyle, its just a miserable halfway house between a house and a nomadic lifestyle.

I can't see their [the travellers] problem TBH?

'We will only leave in body bags,' vows one elderly traveller resident

A cause she would die for: The young woman grimaces as a lock is placed around her neck, meaning almost certain death if the bulldozers knock down the barricade

I can live with that. In fact id pay good money to see that.

any one stupid enough to attach their neck to some thing that's going to be knock down deserves to die, if only to remove their dna from the gene pool. its called natural selection.

aye, and all the other people throughout history that were prepared to die for a cause* they believed in. 🙄

*This does not indicate whether or not I think the eviction should occur.

that was not what you said you said you were happy to see them die

what i should have said is that i have little sympathy for people that die in ways that they could have easily avoided if it wasnt for the fool hardy and stupid decisions made buy the individual that dies !like people that play chicken with trains and die, i see these people in the same way.

Why evict them?

You could give them a secure, permanent home and cut local crime levels in one easy swoop:

I'd die for an evening with Joanne Whalley, circa Edge of Darkness/Singing Detective.

[img] [/img]

Well, not die, as such, but I'd certainly put myself in harms way for a few minutes.
Say, riding through Salford, naked apart from a Sheffield United shirt and a £50.00 note hanging out of the crack of my bum.

That sort of thing, y'know.

The rent-a-activists are appealing for donations here:

http://dalefarm.wordpress.com/

Even offering advice as to what to bring!

Be Prepared

Things to bring:
-warm clothes
-food
-water bottle
-sleeping bag and roll mat
-notepads, pencils
-torches
-cameras for taking photo evidence
-clean phone

Things not to bring:
-offensive weapons
-Things you would not like the police to take off you

Food

A vegan kitchen is running. We will be asking for donations to cover our costs, but it may be an early target of the Bailiffs, so please bring extra food.

Sleeping arrangements

Sleeping space is available in caravans and residents’ homes but we encourage you to bring a tent, and you are welcome to sleep over anytime. Please bring a sleeping bag if you can, and a roll mat is highly recommended especially since most of the tent space is on hard ground.

Just emailed them to ask if they do group booking discounts and a upgrade on the accommodation?

😉

I'd also be prepared to die for the right of the people of Salford not to have to see either Rusty Spanner or Vanessa Redgrave riding around naked with currency sticking out of their bums.

Back in the day, I'd have probably have let Vanessa Redgrave ride around naked. A long time before she became barking mad cat-woman, obviously

Best thing the baliffs could do is leave it a few weeks, not even show up, show no interest at all..... Let everyone get bored,

Then move in on the foulest, wettest day that comes along in November...

I'd bet they won't be chaining themselves up in 5 degrees and horizontal rain!

Do you think its being made to eat crap cheese that makes vegans so prone to violent confrontations with the authorities.

I've tried that vegan cheddar. Its like chewing one of those squeaky dog toys thats been punctured. If I had to eat that instead of Mature Stilton and Tasty Lancs I reckon I'd be stockpiling petrol bombs too

Right, I think I've got the hang of this now:

I'd be prepared to put myself out a bit so Binners doesn't have to see me, OR/AND the modern day Vanessa Redgrave riding round Salford, naked, on a tandem, with cash money hanging out of our bike racks.

BUT, I'd definitely suffer serious inconvenience, up to and including a chinese burn, to see the late Ingrid Pitt elbows deep in vegan concrete/cheese:
[img] [/img]

I'm glad we got that one sorted out.
