Probably going to order 'The Foreign Legion' sounds like my cuppa tea.
Know of any books that focus on the one day classics?
Or anything inspiring to read this winter?
Vin Denson
The Full Cycle (or something like that)
in search of bob mmiller.
top read.
on the postal bus by mick barry.
Team on the Run by John Deering
'A dog in a hat' by Joe Parkin. He's just released another one but I cant remember the title.
In 'Pursuit of Stardom' (Tony Hewson) is on my list, with 'Breaking The Chain' (Willy Voet)
The Devil on Wheels by Gordon Irving.
Cycling is my life by Tommy Simpson. Interesting read for what isn't in written, was written the year before he died.
The Bicycle & the Walkman, by CJ McMahon and CD Graham.
TWO WHEELS TO THE TOP by REG HARRIS
Or one of Les Woodland's books.
Both the Joe Parkin ones are a good read, the 'Dog in a Hat' may suit you better as it covers the classics. (The second one 'Come and Gone' has more US road racingand that new fangled mtb racing in it...)
In Search of Robert Millar is excellent as has already been said.
If you want a good post war read what about 'Fallen Angel' which is all about Fausto Coppi.
The new Bradlety wiggins picture book, think diary blog of the tour and lots of Band W pictures going to order it off book depository half the price of wh smiths.
I really liked the Escape Artist by Matt Seaton. It fits into your second category, 'inspiring'.
