CW McCall who wrote and performed the original Convoy song which later became the 1976 film "Convoy" has died.
Me and my brother's favourite film - our dad was a truck driver in our formative years and we loved American trucks. Convoy was a VHS birthday treat for us!

The film was quite amusing in an "over there but not here" sort of way.
That's sad news. Growing up I somehow got given a tape copy of the Best of CW McCall album. Probably partly explains my continuing love of Americana-based music. Really quite liked a few of the tracks.
