We will be in touch
I've been dogged by Colds, Flu-type viruses, chest infections and the genereal lurge on and off since last September.
Been to the Docs a few weeks back and she gave me oral steroids and anti-biotics to rid me of the most recent chest infection, and to try and boost my system.
Guess what.... back with another head/sinus/throat thing.
I'm sick fed up of feeling ill.
Anyone got any advice ?
Don't bother with MTFU either, as I am hardly ever off work and this has been on and off since September !!!!
Complete rest and let your body do it's thing.
Are you trying to MTFU? Or are you getting proper time off everything to let your system recover?
I think the line "im hardly every off work" sums it up.
Echinachea is what you need to prevent you catching colds etc. I am very sceptical about herbal remedies, but this stuff works. I travel a lot for work and used to be dogged with colds. Not had one this year. Make sure you get the strong stuff with 1000mg to 1200mg per tablet, and take them for a few days after you have been near anyone who might have a cold
I appologise for the possible irrelevance of this post but I'll post anyway.....I get sick about once a year, usually a very nasty flu. When it hits I take a week off work and do nothing, other than watch tv and pump myself full of high fat, high sugar foods, and loads of fluids, this normally shifts it quickly. I've never taken an antibiotic in my life and I hope I never have to. Im normally right as rain shortly after whilst others around me are falling like flies.
I put this down to two things - never taking antibiotics and to being brought up in the country side and coming into contact with all sorts of germs on a daily basis (usually rolling around in them). I still take a cavalier attitude towards cleaning, much to annoyance of the missus.
I too was brought up in the country and never used to get half as ill as I do now. I'm hardy what you'd call city living either, but I think since I stopped living on the farm I've been worse (even with my asthma !)
I am at home now and hopefully will be over this in a couple of days, but I have two kids and complete rest is not really on their agenda when I'm not at work.
I wasn't trying to be a hero either, but I refuse to let little colds and stuff stop me from doing normal things.
