UPDATE: CLASSIFIEDS section refreshed, redesigned, searchable: Go take a look
A couple of posts on the Disproportionately Cross thread earlier made it clear there's an opportunity to share some of our best 'Piss Poor Parking' experiences and photos. Yellow lines, bus stops, dropped kerbs, blocked pavements, skew-wiff alignments, whatever. Lets have them.
I work in Bradford so I've given up caring.
From the aforementioned thread,
The entry to the right is Tesco car park with empty parking bays 10m away.

There's a "Shite Parking" group on Facebook. Bradford features very heavily.
There are a couple of great FB dedicated to these kind of photos.
Also a trend for people to carry chalk so they can add some white lines to match the parking.
Yes, that is the flower bed.
Looks like the Borders General carpark. Except there is only 1 car parked on the bed.
My car is the black one on the left.
The mind boggles.
How long did you have to wait for them, or did they leave before you?

there’s a subreddit dedicated to “can’t park there”.
I was stood outside Lidl with the dog and watched this person park this. They didn't have a clue that it was parked so badly, tbf she could barley see over the steering wheel...

I’ve told this story before, but a girl I used to work with who, being kind, wasn’t always the sharpest tool in the shed once came back from lunch absolutely furious that she’d been given a parking ticket as there was nothing wrong with how she’d parked, the warden was clearly in the wrong etc etc. ‘OK’ we said, ‘if you genuinely think you’ve done nothing wrong, you can ask for photographic evidence and an explanation as to why they gave you a ticket’. One very angry email was duly sent and within about 10 mins a response was in her inbox. You know those emails you get at work where someone is accusing you of all sorts of things, yet you know you are in the right, and it’s an amazing feeling to respond to that email pointing this out? I can only imagine the joy of whomever send this back…
‘ 🤣 Yeah, pay whatever they’re asking’
Then there was this, last year, on my commute, was there for a few days in a new, segregated cycle lane.

That's about 0.5 miles from my office, a frequent occurrence unfortunately

In the same vein, occasionally I'm at the Trafford Centre, imagine MOAB's picture but multiplied a hundred times. There's ample parking (day or night) but some people are far far too important* to walk a couple hundred metres apparently.
* or lazy or fat, but let's be generous.
at my local David Lloyd club, the spaces are fairly tight but quite doable and also in short supply much of the time.
The number of ‘privileged’ people, most often in Lamborghini/Ferrari/Range Rover or similar vehicles who intentionally park centrally into 2 spaces is quite incredible. Similarly use of the parent and child/disabled spaces by same folk with no kids and no visible disability.
I have mentioned at reception a few times, they just shrug and roll their eyes 🙄
I don't have pics but the one that gets me quite regularly is 'da yoot' mates from a house about 5 up from me. All the houses up that way have converted front gardens to parking, and there's a bus stop and side roads so outside mine is the nearest place where they can safely park. And that's absolutely fine, they've as much right to the road outside my house as me.
But they pull it up on the kerb because they think it makes it safer. It doesn't, it has two effects
i/ that the man that lives further down the road and uses a powered buggy to get around can't squeeze through, nor can anyone with a wheelchair or kiddie pushchair. And I've more than one occasion had someone ring my doorbell and berate me for this, before I can get a word in edgeways to say it's not even my car, do I look like I'd own a bright orange ST with a bean can exhaust and Pussy Wagon stickers on the back (or similar). And then they have to walk into the road to avoid it.
ii/ that if you park on the road as you're supposed to it narrows the road to clearly less than 2 cars of width and cars have to wait. Pull it 1/3 of a car onto the pavement and that means there's about 2.01x of car width left. Which is fine when you have two drivers with the visual acuity of a hawk and motor skills to match. When they don't, then yes, your wing mirror risks getting it. And indeed I've had da yoot knocking at the door asking if I saw / do I have doorbell cam, etc.
I've told them, in the nicest possible way, about it being 'their fault' (yeh yeh, victim blaming) but it just doesn't register.

Where's Danny Mackasill when we need him?

Even now it’s finished/painted etc? I’m normally there long before/after office hrs so have only seen that one, but still,.

We only met briefly many years ago, but if you are going to have a mid-life crisis, have a big one!

TBF they were probably working in the harbour within sight. I didn't actually want to leave right that moment - it is the principle that their convenience is more important than my inconvenience. But it annoyed me enough to take a photo. Maybe I should start a Disproportionately Cross thread for it. 😉
You're all amateurs, you need to come to Mam Tor to see the true proliferation of unbelievably shit parking!

Have the red lines made a difference up there? Seem to recall publicity around a large amount of fines being paid

I'm of the mind that if you park in a Disabled bay and don't have a disability then one should be provided.
In my road, the entitled few feel as though it is their right to park outside their homes. I kind of get that, but a few of them have gone so far as to buy a second crappy car. Why? This second car they park wherever they fancy in the street. When it comes to using their primary car, they just move the crap car into their space.
in his defense - "flower" bed right ?
Flowers can't grow too well when the bed is being "Defended"
I mean it’s not funny obviously, and I don’t condone it at all, but there is a chap of FB who puts “You parked like a W@nker” penalty notices on the windscreens of such parkers. He then discretely films their reactions as they return to their cars and try to remove them. Most drivers are infuriated, few, if any, have shrugged their shoulders as if the accept it is a fair cop.
The most challenging one was when the female driver of a white Range Rover spanning two spaces started to give the trolley collector lad a rollicking for it. She then escalated the matter to the store manager.
None of this is funny, and I only watch five or so at a time.

Taxed and insured?
Josh - why would I check that? I see and hear what they do, as there is a song and dance element to the car moving theatrics, but I am not a curtain twitcher about to check the mot status of cars in my road. Some of them are proud of their cleverness, and openly share the secret anyway.
I am not a curtain twitcher either but it would be a very entertaining trolling of sad individuals.
Yes that is a single small car blocking four spaces successfully.
The campervan behind was puzzled as to whether they could squeeze in.
We arrived, walked, had a picnic and brewed up, another walk and paddle on the beach, and still the wee white Vauxhall of parking space blocking was still there....
