am interested in getting a vintage lemon drop guitar from a shop in chippenham in the near future.have noticed that they do take it away scheme 0% interest free over 9 months.am unemployed at present, but by all accounts would still be eligible.i also have a basic current account.the only thing i do not have is a credit card (have a current driving licence though).what could i use instead (it says on the web site that i would need to make a first payment on a credit card for 10% of the total cost/was going to pay cash) sorry to be stupid but any advice would be most welcome.thanking you in advance ๐Ÿ™‚ p.s i am going to the shop this week (to try the guitar out,if they have one) but just asking in advance. p.s forgot to add the link to shop :- http://noteworthy-music.co.uk/take-it-away-0-apr-credit no doubt i have missed something ๐Ÿ™‚

I would imagine that the credit card would be used as a guarantee on the loan, which is what you will have. By making the first payment on the card, you're giving the authority to take future payments.

should have added that they can accept a debit card as well.was wondering if my santander basic account card is a debit card (i use it to withdraw from cashpoint/check my account (sorry to be so thick, but it doesn't say on card if it is a debit card?) โ“

Again, I would imagine that it is a debit card. Acceptance on the debit card would probably depend on how much cash you have in the account and your credit history....

I'd be amazed if they would give a 0% interest finance deal to someone who is unemployed and, I'm guessing from your posts, no credit history.

Probably the best option is to ask the building society. Don't forget who helped you when you become a world famous mega rich guitarist. ๐Ÿ˜‰

stuey01 click the link above.it says that anyone over 18 and a uk citizen is able to go on the scheme (including unemployed people) as long as you can pay the money (and have all the necessary id e.t.c) believe me have double checked it myself.oh and i will be able to pay for the guitar/one way or another. ๐Ÿ™‚

I did click the link. I'm genuinely surprised they say the scheme is open to the unemployed. However, it also says subject to status and that you will be credit checked.
Do you have a credit history?
Anyway, just because you could, doesn't mean you should.
