Hi

Im in a small IT consultancy and we need to organise a corporate away day event for everyone. There are about 13 people but we want to do something with a teambuilding feel. 12 guys one lady so not paintball and we have done a 'powerboat treasure hunt type thingy' before.

I want to do something like orienteering but is there a way to do it so people arnt encouraged to run?
All ideas welcome!

cheers

Do it like a VSCC trial. Scoring based on how early or late you are to a waypoint at which you have to present yourself at exactly the right time.

We did Go Ape last summer at Dalby - it seemed to go down quite well.

What about a series of geocaches? There are some pretty good multi-cache ones about.

Send him into some woods then go after him with crossbows?

Just give people a free holiday, much more appreciated :p

Not sure I have any actual ideas though, at an office level we just do stuff like paint-balling and go-karting (not really team building, more just socialising though) and at a company level we do stuff organised by professional events companies at the annual get-together (usually combining some physical and mental challenges, one was themed like the Crystal Maze). Can't say they do anything though other than take up people's time and cost the company a fair bit of money. I'm sure they pay another set of people to tell them it actually does do some good though...

Try these guys, i worked for a company who won the inter company challenge many many years on the trot. We also had many team building weekends there, the staff and location are second to none

Very physically demanding, and taxing but the experience is well worth it, even to this day (8 years on since the accountants thought it a good idea to cut the budget) those days are still fresh in the mind

I cannot recommend them highly enough
